Hello all. Wondering if anyone can help diagnose. I have a Mustang Pro that has an occasional problem. Occasionally, flipping either flipper activates (scores) the Left Orbit switch. So when holding the flipper, the switch scores repeatedly. The problem started intermittently but rapidly became a constant. I replaced the switch but the problem persists. I've got video of it happening but it seems only images can be uploaded here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try making a fist and bang on playfield see if it makes scoring happen. If so adjust switch it’s probably too sensitive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried banging and jostling the playfield but that didn't do a thing.

Anyone else?

If holding the flipper up repeatedly scores, then it probably isn't a vibration/sensitive switch issue. I would be looking for a short somewhere between the flipper switches/coils and the orbit switch. I just glanced at the manual and it doesn't look like there is overlap between the flipper switches or EOS and that switch in the matrix, so my guess would be it's not a board issue, but rather two paths shorting together somewhere. But if no luck there, I would look at the ICs and transistors associated with the row/columns those switches are on. Good luck! Hopefully it's something simple...wires touching each other or a mech somewhere, etc.

You have to post video on Youtube and then post a link to it in a new post.

I dug a little deeper and found that it's actually SW #40 Upper Ramp Exit (opto) that's being triggered. Might I need to replace the Opto board?

Try reseating all the connectors on the opto board. If that fixes it for a while, you know the problem is with the connectors on that board.
