After numerous unsuccessful attempts, I have figured out how to work the programs necessary to do this. I'll show my final song list first. I appreciate any tips on where the songs go to fill in the blanks. Bottom line, it sounds fantastic! I played it for an hour last night just enjoying the music. Mustang is a great platform for custom music as there is no expectation for what music is supposed to be there.

Mustang Pro Song List

Frampton - Show me the way (Cruisin / 65 convertible)
Request # 26,
The browser then automatically replaced # 27-31 with smaller fragment versions of this clip.

Request # 32 and 33-7 ** see Frampton above **
White Zombie - Thunder kiss ‘65 (Drag Race Multiball / Gear Shift Multiball / Game Over)

Request #62, 69

Request #64

Several steps were required for me.
1. Music. I burned a long play list from my iMac on to a CD using iTunes.
2. CD rip using Winamp. Windows gives the impression nothing much is on the disk. Winamp shows the actual content.
3. Converting the format in Winamp to .wav, mono, 24000Hz
4. Audacity to take those files and cut them to proper size. This was the hardest thing for me to learn how to use properly.
5. Importing the songs into Pinball-Browser.
6. Play testing to get it right!

Thanks for posting... I´m hopefully going to get AC/DC Luci soon and plan to change the music on that... the game is supposed to be excellent, but I´m not into AC/DC... so I definitely want to change the music!!

You're showing your age with that playlist

Do you enter the entire song and allow the software to decide where to start, or do you cue the song where you'd like it to start?

Yep. The age of awesome!

You can set a start point by trial and error. Then match the length to the piece you are replacing.

Once you get that down, try listening to it as a loop (press shift and click play) to see how it will sound in the game. Im not great at the loop and dub, so I just faded some at the end.

thanks for sharing.. u got some nice tunes tunes there..

#7 9 years ago

Game arrives in a few weeks and I plan on going bananas with the music. Classic rock, White Zombie, crazy stuff.

Will also attempt to vary the callouts... maybe Elvira???

My playlist so far:

Back In the Saddle - Aerosmith
Black Sunshine - White Zombie
Detroit Rock City - KISS
I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
La Grange - ZZ Top (Getaway throwback!)
Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf
Radar Love - Golden Earring
She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
Thunder Kiss '65 - White Zombie

Will experiment to see what fits best & where.

#9 9 years ago

Great selection of tunes. First thing I would replace is the call outs.

#10 9 years ago

I wanna rock. Thats a really good one for the game. Nice choice.

#11 9 years ago

Here's a video of my start music.

#12 9 years ago

Gotta love Steve Perry

#13 9 years ago

I'm going to use 'Battle Without Honor Or Humanity' from Kill Bill as the intro tune. Gets the blood flowing!!!!

#14 9 years ago

Is there a way to change the song titles displayed on the dmd once the audio is replaced?

#15 9 years ago

On the Pro, no.

I don't own the LE, but you should be able to go into 'Messages' and change the song title. I did this with Metallica and ACDC.

#16 9 years ago

No, don't see the song titles on the LE version either. oh well.

#17 9 years ago
Quoted from Nevus:

Linda Ronstadt - Poor Poor Pitiful Me

Great list, but I'd use the original Warren Zevon version of Poor Poor Pitiful Me - great driving music:

#18 9 years ago

Just found the best police chase music - SABOTAGE Beastie Boys.

I ripped an instrumental version from youtube for the first part (sequence 58), then used the end of the song from the scream part for part 2 (sequence 59). I also looped the guitar for the shooter music (sequence 57).

Quoted from Mudflaps:

I'm going to use 'Battle Without Honor Or Humanity' from Kill Bill as the intro tune. Gets the blood flowing!!!!

I just put this in for the Action Movie mode. Works awesome.

#19 9 years ago

Some video of my custom Mustang sound track. Featuring electronic music from my DJ days, Beastie Boys and Kill Bill.

I'm playing 1 handed so apologize the poor play but I did trigger a multiball.

#20 9 years ago

Sabotage is a good choice

#21 9 years ago

I've never messed with the Pinball Browser. This is making me want to give it a try. I should have my premium next week.

Just don't sub in any Dylan songs. Like a Rolling Stone isn't what I would call car chase music.

I have Boss Premium #0062. Let us know what number you get?

#23 9 years ago

Mustang Sabotage footage. This music totally transforms the game. The Police Pursuit is super intense.

before anyone asks, the instrumental version came from youtube. I ripped it with this:

http://www.listentoyoutube.com/

This is the instrumental version:

I used the instrumental version for the first half of the mode, so the lyrics don't get too repetitive, and the second half of the mode I use the actual song, edited from the scream onwards.

#24 9 years ago

I enjoy the game much more with my new music. I keep wondering when I will get to that "one little clip" I added etc.

I was looking at this last night, did you ever find a way to change the song titles in the LE as I could not find these, these were easy to do in ACDC?

Thanks to the help in this forum....I just replaced all of the songs on my Boss/Prem. I didnt even have to use Audacity to convert the songs format, the new version of Pinball Browser converts them to the proper format.
Quick question...has anyone replaced the Stunt Driver Music? If so, what is the request number? I dont know what is more annoying, that music or the directors call outs, lol.

Thanks

Hope this helps. Heres what I have for the requests of music:
Req 26: FREE RIDE (Cruisn') - 2:49 > SOUL MAN
Req 32: ACE OF SPADES (Rally Race) - 2:44 > Motley Crue
Req 38: GO BOY GO (Gear Shift Multiball, Game Over) - 1:19 > PENNYWISE
Req 39: DRAG RACE (Drag Race Multiball) - 1:53 > RAM JAM - BLACK BETTY
Req 40-3: DRAG RACE Short intro > > RAM JAM BLACK BETTY
Req 44: FRANKENSTEIN - 4:41 - DISTURBED
Req 47: I WANT TO CELEBRATE - 3:39 > CHARM CITY DEVILS
Req 50: MY OWN WORST ENEMY - 2:47 > IRON MAIDEN
Req 54: WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU - 2:53 > FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH

Req 58: Police Pursuit 1
Req 59: Police Pursuit 2 (Detroit Rock City)
Req 60: Stunt Driver 55s - THE ZOO (Scorpions)
Req 61: 54s Unknown? > Charm city devils
xReq 65: 54s - DRIFT MODE - Given up
Req 66: Unknown? 37s - All I Want - EDITED
Req 67: 52s - Silverball Stampede - SHOOT TO THRILL
Req 69: 36s - Let us hear your voice (69 factory saved)
Req 72: 35s - Burn out MB > OFFSPRING - All I Want
Req 74: 58s - Mustang and/or Wizard mode lit (Black Sunshine)
Req 75: 35s - MUSTANG MB > Royal Blood v1
Req 76-78: Mystery Ford, Upgrade Scoring, Upgrade MB - not sure which is which.

I use audacity cause I can cut + paste clips of the music to fit the short sample rates. THE ZOO I have for stunt driver fits nicely with the 55s song track and the zoo is a long song. So editing it just right takes some time and creativity so it doesn't come out too repetitive. Good luck!

Stunt driver is 55 seconds 031 ms long and I've tried a few different tunes for it:

- James Bond theme song

- Switch 625 by Def Leppard:

- Hell on Wheels TV show main theme song:

- A Team theme song:

- Like a Dog Chasing Cars (Batman Dark Knight, starts around the 1 minute 30 second mark):

- Intro to Reality by Anthrax (starts around the 1 minute mark):

I find it's cool having an instrumental for this one as you can easily hear the Duke of Bourbon dude as he throws out the taunts.

#34 8 years ago

All great suggestions! I havent heard that Def Leopard song in about 30 years, lol.
I know that Audacity has a ton of features but the new PB has the editing feature in it as well. Its not as slick as audacity but if you tinker with it you can edit the time slices as well.

I am thinking about using one these for stunt driver....

I like it your list. Did you have any issues with looping?

I have the intro to "Don't stop believing" when you push start on my game. It sounds fantastic, but it stops and loops awkwardly if you wait a bit to plunge tje ball. My editing skills aren't so great.

Looking forward to a new tune update with v1.45

Would love to try it out, like what Eskaybee did by adding AFM Martian jackpot callouts.

I'll be updating my music on the new code sometime soon! I'll share when I have it done.

I think the Eagles "Life in the Fast Lane" would be a good song for this pin.
