Quoted from Rat_Tomago:You wanted some real music to play from the mid 70's while playing pinball?
Man all those selections ate my coinage.

Quoted from Rat_Tomago:You wanted some real music to play from the mid 70's while playing pinball? You won't find these for your jukebox full of 45's but you would wish that they had come out as a 45.
Some of my personal favorites from about 1974-1977ishPost edited by Rat_Tomago: Had to add more.
Quoted from DirtFlipper:If only Ozzie had autotune for those live gigs...
Or just an upgrade in the Vocals.
Quoted from LOTR_breath:Thanks for all of those, especially Pat Travers! All I ever really remember from him was "Snortin' Whiskey and Drinkin' Cocaine". He was an exceptional guitarist!
... WAS an exceptional guitarist? he is still touring & still rocks. Saw him play at a small local club a couple of years ago... what a performance. Maybe 60 people there & the band hung out & had beers with us after the show. Fantastic. would go see him anytime.
Pat Travers = Beyond underrated. Here is the whole German TV concert from 1976. Enjoy every minute of it like I do all the time.

Listening to it now. I like it.
Back in the early 80's I bought all three Gamma albums and loved them. Now looking at Wikipedia I just learned that he put out a 4th Gamma album in 2000. I'm gonna have to check it out.
Now Boom Boom Baby by Crash Craddock took off in Australia but I think not in the US and as I recall 'boomed' through our pinball parlours
Johnny Winter played and sang it better 3 years prior. (Yes I know Rick wrote it)
Studio & Live Versions.....
Derringer also released a rocking live version with a very capable back-up band. One of my favorite shows I went to in 78. Then the band broke up.

This seems to happen a lot in R&R world, I just don't get it.
Quoted from WOLF:Did a lot of partying to that one, as I'm sure you did too - o-din!!
Heck ya! Got to see Trower live back in the day. Man that guy was smokin!
Looks like he still is!
I heard a famous DJ once say that Robin Trower went to the Jimi Hendrix school of guitar. All schools should be that cool.
My favorite Robin Trower clip. June 26th, 1973 in Paris France. All 21 minutes of this footage is amazing. It just makes me wish there was more or that there was no such thing as commercials.
Back to Montrose. My friend Mark and I were at the Whisky A Go Go watching AXIS, Rick Derringers old band and the singer for this band was sitting at the table next to us with some of his friends. A good time was had by all.
Quoted from o-din:Smokin' Day of the Eagle live track there.
The highlights for me start at 8:00 in. "Man of the World" (holy shit they are on fire) and then they rock right into "Rock Me Gently"
California Jam?? Bleh
Let try a real Jam. 1978 Texas Jam right at the end of the EM era
I was just a bit young to make this one but couple years later i went. It was freaking hot

We had Cal Jam 2 also.... And I was there! Not everything is bigger in Texas.
Yeah i think Texas Jam went until 87 or 88 or so right about when i moved out of Dallas
I want to say there were 9 of them
I miss those lineups and energy

Hey I found a video that was shot in Odin's back yard. If you look close you will find Odin drinking a beer with some women in the background.
Quoted from Rat_Tomago:Hey I found a video that was shot in Odin's back yard.
This video was actually shot in my buddies back yard. And yes you may find me drinking a beer somewhere there with women in the background.
Quoted from Rat_Tomago:Well which one are you in the video?
Just a guy in the background drinking beer and having a good time. My buddy is the bass player and we used to jam together. He has asked me to fill in with this band on drums, but mostly all they play is Neil Young, and I'm really not all into that.
Queen. Arguably one of the worlds greatest bands with Brian May heading up Guitar.
Saw them last night with Adam Lambert and it was really really good.

Heres a video i took

Stunning clips of two of their greatest-thks for sharing.
Achilles Last Stand works well with LOTR. Ballroom Blitz with Flash Gordon. You have to include Pinball Wizard by Elton John, don't you? Too much?
The Jigsaw/Sky High pull on page one woke up long forgotten memories of mocking the singer when I was a kid because he was whining that they could have touched the sky, but she has blown it all sky high... Can't you touch the sky when you're sky high?
