I can't figure out how to remove a couple of mushroom bumpers (so I can replace the rubber rings). Looking underneath, they appear to be held on with some type of C-clip, but it won't budge, and I'm afraid of breaking the flange of the bumper that protrudes from the underside. Any tricks or something I'm missing?

Snap clip. Pry off, probably have to bend the wings of it up. You might need a new one to reassemble.

That's a nut - like the kind that hold control panel buttons on video game. Undo it with a wrench.

He's asking about the clip not the nut. See red arrows.

Oh! 'Cause if you take off the nut and pull the thing out of the playfield, you can pretty easily change the rubber ring.

yeah, that's probably just a 7/8" dia. pal nut and as frobozz has stated, it can easily be removed using a socket

Thanks everyone. Yep, all I had to do was loosen the nut and the bumper came right off. 30-second job. I was trying to overcomplicate things thinking I had to somehow disassemble the entire unit. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time and frustration.
