Here's my 1965 Nova SS. I've owned the car for 20 years.

It is For Sale right now!

Got the stance finalized on my 1964 Nova SS pro street project. Front end was dropped 5". It has a custom super-trick Mustang II style front suspension up front with a 4-link and a 9" rear out back. Wilwood disc brakes on all 4 corners.

    Quoted from Bohdi:

    Dam that looks fast! '63?

    It's a '64 SS

My favorite Mopar of all-time is the 1968 Plymouth GTX. When I was 16 back in the 70s I had been saving my money from working at a gas station for a couple years in anticipation of buying my 1st car.

The final decision came down to two choices:
    >1968 Plymouth GTX 440 Magnum Auto (loaded with power everything).
    >1970 Chevelle SS396 L-78 4-Speed.

Both cars had about 60K original miles on them.

It was a tough decision but like most young men I consulted my father who was a die hard GM man and of course he told me to get the Chevelle which I did. No regrets but I still do like the '68 GTX a lot.

I got rid of the Chevelle in 1980 when the price of gas went from 69.9 for premium leaded to $2.00 per gallon overnight due to the Iranian hostage crisis. I could barely afford to drive to work (I only made $2.65 per hr).

I sold the Chevelle for $1,800 (the same price I paid for it a couple years earlier) and bought a used Datsun.

Rationing was implemented by the state (PA). It went by your inspection sticker on the windshield. Odd numbers could get gas on odd days and even numbers even days. 10 gallons max per day.

Fast-forward a couple years to 1982 when I bought my 1964 Nova SS 4-speed. I still have it today. I've also had several other muscle cars over the years but kept the '64 Nova.

Now the '64 is a pro street project that is in the home stretch of being completed. Should be done around August if everything goes as planned.

Well my never-ending 1964 Nova SS pro street project has progressed. It's been slow going but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. I've owned this car since 1982.

Slammed & tubbed with a blown rat. It's actually further along than these pictures. Hope to see some paint this spring.

    Here's the engine build:
    • Gen VI GM HO502 Short Block
    • Forged internals
    • Dart 360 heads (8.6 : 1 CR) (Bill Mitchell prepped)
    • Isky mechanical roller cam (custom grind)
    • Jesel shaft rockers
    • Jesel belt drive
    • BDS 8-71 supercharger
    • Twin Quick Fuel 950 cfm double-pumpers
    • MSD ignition

Here's the engine on the dyno. This is on 92 octane pump gas. 8PSI boost. Street mode.

What do you think it had for HP & Torque?

92 octane fuel with 8 PSI boost:

    949 HP @ 7,200 RPM
    806 ft/lbs torque @ 4600 RPM

It's over 1,100 HP on race gas with 12 PSI boost.

The engine also has the NOS 8-71 nitrous system on in that is adjustable from 175 to 400 additional ponies that has yet to be actuated.

Those are brand-new "Steelhorse Design" reproduction Bronco bodies in the background.

All stainless exhaust. Custom headers with 2-1/8" primaries & 3.5" collectors.

3.5" exhaust with X-tube & electric cut-outs all the way out the back with Borla stainless race mufflers snaked over the rear axles and through the stainless wheelie bars.
