1978 Trans Am. Mildly built 400, 4-speed, T-Tops. Absolute blast to drive. Crappy pics, looks much better in person

    Quoted from ramegoom:

    87. The 85's are known as the "hot air" cars, and you should avoid anything older than 86.

Yep, 86 or 87 is what you want. 87 GNX would be nice...

    Quoted from kba78:

I know some people don't like the "big bumper" era Camaros. But this is my fun summertime driver[quoted image]

I love the mid 70's Camaros. My wife (girlfriend at the time) had a Orange '74 in the mid 80's, then i bought it from her after she had it for about 2 years. Fun car. Love to have another one, but i can live with my '78 Trans Am

    Quoted from Grandnational007:

I have a certain soft spot for disco T/A's; they really epitomize the times they were running around the streets of 'merica.

Agreed. Always loved that era of TA's. Smokey and the Bandit helped sales just a bit back in the day also. I was 10 I believe when the movie came out, and i was hooked on that car from the get go. Likely never sell mine.

    Quoted from zr11990:

Question for you car people. I have a 67 Camaro with a rebuilt ls engine and 4l60 in it. I had it built for my son and he doesn’t want it. My real dream car is a black or red 78 trans am or z28. Does anyone think I would be able to trade the 67 for the rubber bumper car?

So your dream car is my car? Cool. I wouldn't trade it for a '67 Camaro, but i know plenty of people would. Value is much higher pending condition. I like the 67's but i'd rather have a '69 or a early split bumper Camaro.

Eye candy. My uncles cars, yes, all of them belong to one fella

Your uncle SUCKS! LOL. Seriously tho, that '70 Superbird is my favorite car, and Tony Stewart's race car is pretty dam cool too. They all are, i'm just picky as to what i really like. Awesome uncle you have there

    Quoted from Roostking:

But for the love of gawd, please pull that yellow splitter protector off lol. Its supposed to be thrown away at the dealership.

I've worked at a Dodge dealership for almost 28 years. I'm amazed how many people who buy these Challengers, especially the Hellcats, leave that protector on the air dam. They DO get beat up fairly fast. But yeah, they don't look the greatest but. These are great bang for the buck cars BTW. 392 Scatpact widebody Challengers are pretty impressive when you compare pricewise to a Hellcat. Have more than enough power at 20K+ less in price

    Quoted from drfrightner:

To say that I like sublime green is an understatement. I also own a sublime green 440 6 pack Cuda not pictured. The bird and AAR are almost totally restored.
    1970 AAR CUDA
    1970 SUPERBIRD
    1999 Hellcat Redeye
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
    [quoted image][quoted image]

That Superbird especially is so bad ASS! Absolutely one of my favorite cars. Just will never be able to afford one. Your one lucky mother F-er.

Ill trade you that TA for a 67 Camaro with 300 miles on a 350 LS and 4L60.

Don't think i'll ever part with her. Pics of your Camaro?

    Quoted from MustangPaul:

Drove the Mustang on the street Monday for the first time since 1993. Drove it about 20 miles to the shop to have the electric power steering and a few other things done. The 306 was built in 94 for when I raced it at Bonneville and it surprised me how STRONG it ran. Now I hope I get it back for my friends 4th of July party, his 67 Mustang and my car will be on display. Here's a pic of his car also. Felt good to be back in the saddle again.

Looks great Paul. Glad to see ya back on the road. Maybe i'll bump into ya at a car show or cruise??

    Quoted from mbeardsley:

Yes, but I prefer the '77 / '78 front end.
    [quoted image]

THIS front end. I like the 79-81's as well, but these do look "cleaner" IMO. This is my baby. New freshly rebuilt motor going back in it right now...

    Quoted from mbeardsley:

Yes, I had a friend back in the day who would buy a new T/A every year.
    He had a '77, then a '78, then a '79, and then had a 10th anniversary one.
I lost touch with him after that...wouldn't be surprised if he is still driving one.

There awesome cars to drive from that era. EVERY time I stop for gas or for whatever the reason, someone comments on it.

    Quoted from woody24:

Friend is back at his parents for the holiday, and was going through some old stuff. He sent me this from a newspaper from '74 tornado through his hometown. He was trying to identify the car, and I can't figure it out either. I was thinking '67-68 Camaro at first from the fender. But the tail lights are throwing me off. Anyone know?
    [quoted image]

Looks like a early 70's Cuda
