Quoted from Who-Dey:I like the pics that have the girl in them much better Paul. Is she still around ir did you let her get away?
You mean my avatar and these 2 pictures? When it was good she treated me like a king but when it was bad it was REALLY bad. It got to the point I couldn't trust her farther then I could throw her. I found she did the dirty deed with my best friend so I threw her out. In fact it was the guy in the above picture facing the camera with the sun glasses on. He's dead now so he's not around anymore.
Quoted from Who-Dey:Yep those were the pics i was talking about. I never was a Ford fan but i gotta say that is one good looking Mustang you got. Theres a guy that lives down the street from me that has a 69 Mach 1 with a 429 Cobra Jet motor and the car has 4k original miles on it. Its blue with a gold stripe and it still looks like it did the day he drove it off of the lot. I would hate to think what that car must me worth.
Thanks, it is one of a kind. WOW only 4k and the original owner. Off the top of my head that car could be worth 90-100k if it's in as good a shape as you say.
Quoted from Who-Dey:This car im pretty sure came with a 429. I could be wrong on if its called a 429 cobra jet but im 99% sure that its a 429 engine. I haven’t seen the car in many years but im sure that its a 429. Paul would probably know if they made a 1969 Mach 1 with a 429 motor. Care to chime in on this Paul?
The only 429 in a Mustang was the Boss 429, a semi hemi design, if you have one it's a 6 figure car. 69 and 70 MACH 1's were the 428's
Quoted from Who-Dey:It truly is everything im telling you it is. The car has the original paint on it and it doesn't have a scratch on it that im aware of. The guy used to live on my street and i used to go talk to him all the time. He still lives close to me but he did move about 15-20 years ago and is probably around 70 years old now but he still has the car and he'll never sell it ever.
I guess there is probably a nicer one somewhere around out there that got garaged as soon as it was bought but i guarantee you that there is only very few in the world as nice as this one is.
If it has all the factory tags and crayon marks all over the place that really adds to the value.
Quoted from AlexF:My uncle's last Indy didn't end well either. He survived but never raced again. Somewhere I have one of these pics signed.
[quoted image]
OS SHIT! Those are his legs sticking out in mid air. Did he keep them?
Quoted from AlexF:Yes, he got a broken ankle I think. He suffered a traumatic brain injury from the G force. He was in a coma for quite awhile and then a long road to recovery. He was my childhood hero and I got to drive him around for errands and such some time after. It was fun, he was a character.
Man he could have lost both legs in that situation, he was luck to survive.
Quoted from o-din:I did stomp on the gas in my Galaxie with the 390 in it, with my girlfriends brother and two of his friends in it and drove the car off a cliff. Only thing that saved us was a tree 30 feet down or it was another 150 or more to the bottom. Lesson learned and that started my career as a mechanic tearing the remains of that car apart.
Great uncle Louis and his mechanic did not fare so well.

Sad to see they didn't make it.
Quoted from dmacy:Any of you guys been to SEMA? Headed there this year as a bucket list.
Never been there but a friend of mine has a business called Innovative Tools and Technology. He sells auto body shop equipment that he and only he designs. I think he's up to 3 booth spaces now. His name is Brian, I used to do all his promo videos, if you see him say Hi for me. Also if the Bonneville streamliner Turbinator is there say Hi to the owner Rick Vesco, I was the team videographer when they set the FIA world record back in 2001. Say Hi to Rick for me.
Quoted from woody24:Traded in my 2006 Mustang GT for a 2017 Mustang GT this past December. I miss the '06.
[quoted image]
I would think the 17 is the better car.
Quoted from fiberdude120:Thinking of getting a new GT350 any thoughts? Getting tired of my corvette.
Oh now your talkin.
Quoted from dmacy:From a car show I was in today. Some really nice classic muscle there and didn’t get to take pics of a 1/5 of them.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I can't wait till my Mustang is ready for the shows. Next year hopefully.
Quoted from skyrex:Some more photos from some events I’ve attended......and a rough wreck I fortunately survived.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
WOW, your lucky to be here.
Quoted from skyrex:That was my first GT. I wasn’t even speeding. Going to see friends at cars and coffee on a Saturday to talk about the event I had participated in the weekend before when I went over 230 for the first time. GT has no traction control and at the bottom of the on ramp a truck or something had dumped some gravel. I shifted to second just as I hit the gravel and the rear end lost traction and whipped out. Honestly I have corrected worse but it was a tight two lane and I ended up in the grass .....which if you don’t realize is like ice. Slid into a eucalyptus tree and went from 60-0 instantaneously. Broke my right ankle and had an open fracture on my left leg. True story. My wife was sitting with me in the ER and she had driven in the event the weekend before. She had gone over 200 for the first time. So she looks at me and say “I had a good time last weekend” I replied “so did I” then she said “well we are going to get another GT right?” lol
One of the many reasons I love her.
and they say racing is dangerous. Yeah she's a keeper.
Quoted from konghusker:Got the windows tinted and my custom plates. No mercy!!!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I've always liked the styling of that year.....especially in IMSA trim.
Quoted from Roostking:Why on Earth would take a small block over a big block!!!
Price
Weight
More room in engine compartment
Higher reving
Better fuel mileage
Cost of parts
Just to name a few.
Quoted from v8racefan:Here’s a recent photo of my beast.
[quoted image]
You had it imported, that must have been expensive.
Quoted from calprog:Restored 78 vette!!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Super sharp.....and black too. As you can tell I like black.
img004 (resized).jpgQuoted from dmacy:Been snowy in the PA area today and haven’t had my car out for over a month. First world problems.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Sheet, I haven't had mine out in 26 YEARS.
Quoted from geeteoh:Stock Midnight Green 1969 GTO. 400ci, 4-speed, 3:23, factory air, all original sheet metal (no patch panels). Have owned since 1990.
[quoted image]
Beautiful, keep it all stock.
Got mine back from the shop last month, not done yet but the paint and body work looks beautiful. Now the clean up and upgrading.

I love the old school look of them.[quoted image]
I like that body style.
Got the oil cooler and remote filter hooked up and no leaks. Now to replace the fuel cell can and top, old one was nasty. Clean the outside of the bladder, clean and install new bolts on the fill plate, fill holes and drill new ones and repaint the cell mounting frame. Nice having a clean and warm garage to work on it over the winter.

Super nice.
Quoted from sniffsnerk:Here are a few of mine. 32 took 2nd place at World of Wheels.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Congrats on the 2nd Place. Love it.
Quoted from dmacy:Few cars for auction and show today down at Ocean City, MD Convention Center.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I just love the way those big indoor shows make your car look.
Quoted from Mach5Amps:I can dig a thread where guys get excited by car parts. I'm building a Cobra replica. This is waiting to drop in, when I get that far...[quoted image][quoted image]
Oh boy I LOVE it. 289? How many hp ya think?
Quoted from Mach5Amps:Thanks, man.
It's a 363 using a big bore Dart SHP block with the 289 deck height. Hp... I'm not even going to guess. But certainly enough to get one hell of a thrill from a car under 2500 lb.
yeah that's enough to get you into trouble.
I finally got some good pictures of my Mustang.

That’s slick!
Thanks and it's not done yet, I just ordered electric power steering and a new tilt steering colume.
8052400-500x500 (resized).jpgQuoted from dasvis:Good God those fender flares are hideous.
Well when you have wide wheels and tires on the car for a wider stance and better handling what ya gonna do? My rear end is 3 inches wider then a stock rear end. Try putting BIG race rubber your road race car without putting flairs on it. LOL
img007 (resized).jpgQuoted from Darcy:HA! Even the trailer has Ford Trim Rings and Hub Caps.
They were the original caps and rings off the Mustang. LOL
Mustang when new (resized).jpgQuoted from littlecammi:So you've been bulking up? A bit more exercise might help you narrow that problem area.
But enough about you - what gears are in your Mustang's differential?
hahahahahahahaha never thought it was a problem. In those pictures and this one I was running 3.91 in a Ford 9 inch with Moser axles, big bearings and a Detroit Locker. Kept all that stuff but switched to 3.70 gears for greater straight away speeds. Here's a picture from 1983 when I was at Road America for the Shelby open track event. It ran REAL strong for the build in 83. That's me on the left.
Road America 1983 (resized).jpg
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Oh, please tell me all the gear heads also clay bar treat their rides? I shine my 7 yr old VW twice a year this way, paint looks almost as good as it did the day I got it and I park OUTSIDE 24/7.
Might have been covered but figure worth another mention.[quoted image]
I just did mine and look at the over spray that came off. Looking perfect now and smooth as glass again. Only the top side of the Mustang needed it and only took about half an hour with no hard rubbing.
IMGA0166 (resized).JPGIMGA0167 (resized).JPGQuoted from luch:Anyone see what this idiot did ? He was fired ! Reporter climbs on cars and bangs car door against another car ! What an ass !
Yeah I saw that, what an idiot.
Quoted from QuickSilverShelby:Did you make these for your track car?
QSS
It's a street/track car. Brought in the New Year with it last night. LOL
IMGA0187 (resized).JPGIMGA0188 (resized).JPGIMGA0189 (resized).JPGQuoted from locksmith:This one is a road warrior and not afraid to get dirty[quoted image][quoted image]
That a 440 6 pack?
Quoted from Hayfarmer:Happy 50th !! you look good for your age
hahahaha that was taken when it was new 50 years ago.
Got my drivers seat and straps and my removeable steering wheel release on the Mustang, a Facebook friend made a larger diameter release ring for it and after 26 years it has insurance and license tabs on it. A few things left to do.
IMGA0297 (resized).JPGIMGA0303 (resized).JPGIMGA0309 (resized).JPGIMGA0310 (resized).JPGQuoted from dmacy:Haven’t posted much here as I haven’t had my car out much due to most shows cancelled. However couple guys from work brought their cars in to work yesterday too.
Left to right is my buddy’s 2015 Roush RS, my 12 GT500, and my bosses 2015 GT with Roushcharger Stage 1 kit.

GREAT line-up.
Drove the Mustang on the street Monday for the first time since 1993. Drove it about 20 miles to the shop to have the electric power steering and a few other things done. The 306 was built in 94 for when I raced it at Bonneville and it surprised me how STRONG it ran. Now I hope I get it back for my friends 4th of July party, his 67 Mustang and my car will be on display. Here's a pic of his car also. Felt good to be back in the saddle again.
4th at Jasons 2020 (resized).jpg6-14-21 (resized).jpg6-14-21-2 (resized).jpg6-14-21-3 (resized).jpgWell I took the Mustang up to Brainard International Raceway in central MN for the Trans Am a nice 300 mile round trip for the weekend of July 16-18th and it overheated twice on the way up because of traffic jams, no problem just pulled over and let it cool. I have to get the 2nd radiator fan working soon. What a GREAT weekend of camping and race action, talked to MANY people about the car and many asked me when it was going to be my turn on the track because it was the ONLY road race street driven car up there, people would stop watching the race and gave me the thumbs up when I drove by. On the way home all 3 bolts of the passenger side header collector fell off and the reducer fell to the pavement, you all can imagine what that sounded like. LOL I had no nuts or bolts to replace the lost ones but I did have one of my metal tent stakes so I ran it through the top hole of the reducer and collector and bent it over. Got about 30 miles and pulled over to see how it was holding when a truck pulled up and an old guy and his son get out and asked if I had a problem. They looked and said "no problem, my son here lives a block away and he'll fix it up for ya". So I pulled up in front of his house and he wheels out a floor jack and some nuts, bolts and wrenches, I jack up the car and the son lays in the street and puts the bolts in while I talked to the old man. WOW!!! We get it all fixed and his sons 6 year old boy comes out and says "cool car" so I said "you want to sit in it" and he just lights up. So once he's in I strap him in with all 5 of the seat belts and he is just beaming while his dad takes a couple pictures of him. Before I left I took his phone and took a couple pictures of all 3 of them standing by the car and as I left I wound out the car in 1st and 2nd gear down their street for a little show for them. What a weekend.

How long has it been a road racer? What engine and transmission do you have in it?
Since 76. I've kept adding parts since then. Now it's a 306cid with 345hp with a Toploader 4 speed. Next year I plan on having a Dart SHP363 which I have new in the box in my garage built to around 550-600hp.
Put my new 70 Mustang door panels on, had a new tranny tail shaft bushing and new drive shaft seal put in my toploader and bought a new 3 2/2 inch steel drive shaft. They are all cleaned and painted. Was watching the Brainard International Raceways Trans Am race, the one I went to and saw that I video bombed the video of the false grid before the race. Here are a couple of stills I took off the tv screen. hahahahaha
