    Quoted from littlecammi:

Interesting. I knew racing stripes add 20 to 30 horsepower. Didn't know steering wheels could too.

LOL, I don't know either, but it was a heck of an upgrade honestly. The SRT steering wheel is so much beefier than the stock one was. Much more comfortable.

Don’t forget a good car washing. That always adds about 15 horses. It always feels faster when it’s clean

    +1 to that ^

Stick on fender vents and hood scoops, 'sponsor' decals and huge rear wings must add magnitudes of HP, based on what I see around here!
What I find most odd is the front wheel drive vehicles that display the enormous rear wings, and WHEN in rush hour traffic are they going to achieve the 'downforce' from such monstrosity?

Can't forget fart can mufflers, my children grew up hearing me say a loud exhaust does not a fast car make.

Oh, please tell me all the gear heads also clay bar treat their rides? I shine my 7 yr old VW twice a year this way, paint looks almost as good as it did the day I got it and I park OUTSIDE 24/7.

Might have been covered but figure worth another mention.

There is no need to clay your car twice a year.

    Quoted from fiberdude120:

There is no need to clay your car twice a year.

Between the pine tree sap and road scum from 3 construction zones, if I don't the build up is too difficult to remove with simple hand wash.
I used to do it once a year when I had a garage and drove it only 50 miles a month, but with a 44 mile one way commute now, I like it nice and shiny.

The enormous rear wing is not there for downforce. It is just a place they use to iron the bill of their cap flat.

Is anyone doing the Power Tour next year? I'm going with a friend of mine to check out the last couple of legs. We plan to pick it up near Champaign, go to Des Moines, and it ends about 10m from my house in Madison.

I know some people don't like the "big bumper" era Camaros. But this is my fun summertime driver

I love the mid 70's Camaros. My wife (girlfriend at the time) had a Orange '74 in the mid 80's, then i bought it from her after she had it for about 2 years. Fun car. Love to have another one, but i can live with my '78 Trans Am

Good God those fender flares are hideous.

Well when you have wide wheels and tires on the car for a wider stance and better handling what ya gonna do? My rear end is 3 inches wider then a stock rear end. Try putting BIG race rubber your road race car without putting flairs on it. LOL

Yea I loved mine (well still do I guess) till she hit about 110000 in mileage, which was earlier this year, since June I've dropped about $4500 into it.
And that was with only ONE trip to the dealer for a water pump, I wasn't about to jack with that one.
But that 4500 also includes drilled and slotted brake upgrade and new tires (which still aren't wide enough).
Next year I hope to get some 8.5" wheels and some 245s, then MAYBE they will be able to stick.

So you've been bulking up? A bit more exercise might help you narrow that problem area.

But enough about you - what gears are in your Mustang's differential?

    #420 4 years ago

Bought his Pony Car a few months ago. Was sold new in San Jose CA. never registered in America. Shipped to Japan. Eventually it came back to North America in 2010 to Vancouver.

hahahahahahahaha never thought it was a problem. In those pictures and this one I was running 3.91 in a Ford 9 inch with Moser axles, big bearings and a Detroit Locker. Kept all that stuff but switched to 3.70 gears for greater straight away speeds. Here's a picture from 1983 when I was at Road America for the Shelby open track event. It ran REAL strong for the build in 83. That's me on the left.

Few pics from Classic Auto Mall while buddy and his son dropping off their 15 Roush RS for consignment.

69 Charger had a lot of trash on the hood and poorly painted resprays. Grill had all sorts of minor issues. I didn't bother to look underneath. Vinyl top and interior looked great though.

I saw this the other night when out to dinner. Who drives a expensive car like this and let’s it be so dirty. That car costs more than my house.

To give you an I idea I know a guy who last year made 5.7 million dollars a day all year long. He would drive that in the snow if would go.

Had some real fun the other night with some kid in a nice M2.
I wasn't even driving full aggressive mode and was smoking him at each light and for about 100 yards, then he would finally catch up, I'm sure he was a little disappointed I only had to drop $25K (& about $1.5k on mods) on my German auto vs his price tag and was almost his better!

Side note, to those that were interested, here are a couple examples of the street signs I am making.

I just did mine and look at the over spray that came off. Looking perfect now and smooth as glass again. Only the top side of the Mustang needed it and only took about half an hour with no hard rubbing.

So as most have heard, the Bullitt mustang movie car sold today for $3,400,000. But the next question is how soon will we see the 2nd Bullitt movie car that was found a year or two ago in Mexico. The numbers on that car were confirmed to be one of the two used in the film.

    #437 4 years ago

    Some fun as well.

Did you have cat-back or axle-back? How'd you like it? I had cat-back Borla on my '06 and loved it. But got it for a deal at that time, and just haven't been able to pull the trigger yet on spending $1200+ on an exhaust system. But I keep trying to listen to videos online for different type of exhaust, and from what I hear, I don't like x-pipes and want to go H-pipe, but everyone I hear that went with an h-pipe didn't like it. I just want to deeping growl. I don't want a raspy sound.

I had a cat back borla sport. Not too loud, low drone, you can pull out quietly if you drive like granny. When you nail it that thing roared. Highway wasn’t too loud in cabin. Sound clips on YouTube helped me decide.

Looks great and nice to see a 2005 getting love! Especially having owned it since new. Have you had it dynoed with the Whipple/Ford Racing kit? The 4.6 3v was a good motor and was pretty quick. They kinda were lost after the 5.0 hit in 2011. I like the 05-10 GT’s.
