sc93cobra love to see another fan of exposed lugs on the 93 cobra wheels and that it only works if they are 5lug.

When I do this for my foxbody, I'll probably have a cover machined to put over the hub to hide those grease caps.

    1994 six speed lt1 can’t believe it’s a classic next year 25 years old.

    What happened!?

    #255 5 years ago

That was my first GT. I wasn’t even speeding. Going to see friends at cars and coffee on a Saturday to talk about the event I had participated in the weekend before when I went over 230 for the first time. GT has no traction control and at the bottom of the on ramp a truck or something had dumped some gravel. I shifted to second just as I hit the gravel and the rear end lost traction and whipped out. Honestly I have corrected worse but it was a tight two lane and I ended up in the grass .....which if you don’t realize is like ice. Slid into a eucalyptus tree and went from 60-0 instantaneously. Broke my right ankle and had an open fracture on my left leg. True story. My wife was sitting with me in the ER and she had driven in the event the weekend before. She had gone over 200 for the first time. So she looks at me and say “I had a good time last weekend” I replied “so did I” then she said “well we are going to get another GT right?” lol
One of the many reasons I love her.

    Quoted from skyrex:

While my tastes in cars run a little more modern/exotic now I do love all cars. I have had a variety of cars from a BMW 850CSI, supercharged C5 corvette, 03 Viper convertible, a twin turbo NSX and then into my current line up. Never thought I would be a multi fun car but honestly except for driving my dogs around I always jump in one of them and log miles. No garage queens here. Every car I have owned in the last 10 years has been to an acceleration event and gone to top speed multiple times. Even had a pretty rough accident once. Can dig up pics if you guys are interested.

I started a business 16 years ago with my wife and worked literally 7 days a week until I sold it in July. It was intense while it lasted but it gave us the chance to retire young and healthy.

Thanks...If it was a compliment. Not trying to win. Important thing is my wife and I are happy and healthy everyday. The toys are nice don’t get me wrong but the people you surround yourself with are more important. Plus I don’t have kids just dogs. I joke with some of my friends with kids that look at what you put into raising your kids and that is my garage.

You will love it. Car guy nirvana. There are so many cars and exhibits inside and outside the convention center your head will spin.

Tell me more about the horsepower and performance numbers from these cars. Was the NSX the new or old one? I’m sure your doing more than 200mph on that Heffner GT in the 1/2 mile, correct?

Painted my calipers this Labor Day. My car now has 5-10 more horsepower that it didn't before.

I saw yours and felt obligated to post up a pic of mine! I've been a Cougaraholic all of my life!

As a kid, I was probably 5 or 6, my brother and I used to play around in my dad's broken down '70 that was on the side of my grandparents house. About 6 or 7 years later my brother and I got a few books from the library, did some research, and a friend's dad helped us get her running. The exhaust had rusted off of it and I was instantly hooked when I first heard that 351 Cleveland fire up open pipe!

Thanks! I am really proud and happy to own her, the day she was delivered to me was like a dream coming true! Unfortunately convertible season is winding down and then winter will be here and she will have to be put up for a few months but that's when pinball takes over full time!

My first car was a 1970 Cougar XR7! Sadly, I totaled it. (I was a dumb ass kid) Been hooked ever since! I had a 69 coupe hot rod also, built 302! man that car would scream! My current one (one I posted) got it about 2 years ago, slowly trying to put her back to stock. You say Cougaraholic, are you a member of that facebook group?

    #273 5 years ago

I bought a 71 Cougar convertible summer of '89 with my graduation money. Had so much fun with it. 351 Cleveland was pretty fast for the time. Met my future wife showing it off to a friend of hers. Crashed it later that Summer. Nobody got hurt but totalling that car was like losing a dear friend.

Fuel cell (without it's metal top is almost finished, same with the custom metal console and battery box behind the passenger seat.

Sorry for the late reply. Traveling. NSX was an older one but it had a nice body kit and was one of only 300 made in midnight pearl metallic paint color. My first mid engine car. It was a lot of fun.

As for the GT I do mostly mile or 1.5 mile events. However we have 3 traps so on a time slip you get the half mile, mile and 1.5 mile time. I included a couple time slip examples. . My GT.....and all production 05/06 GT’s ......has no traction control. So if I get a good hook that half is low to high 180’s depending. I have around 1,060 RWHP and 980 rwtq so getting power to the ground in first and second can be challenging even with Hoosier R7’s. I don’t spin a ton but my wife does when she drives. I saw your pics. Nice line up. I assume you are running half mile events by the pics? The guys getting the real big half mile numbers have great aftermarket traction control systems and usually are running boost by gear set ups. Those cars running 230-240 in the half are impressive. Me...well I like having control of the power. I have a friend with a big Horsepower set up that ran 293 and change at Texas mile. About the only thing left stock on his car is the body. My Heffner kit is bolt on. I didn’t have to go into the engine at all. And between my wife and I we have done over 200 passes at over 200. I have about 150 and she has about 60. Knock on wood but besides an exhaust leak twice no mechanical issues. Anymore HP and it would hurt the reliability of the car. I do have an in cabin boost controller so I can dial it back to around 750RWHP when I am driving around town.

Oh and the NSX had a bell engineering twin turbo system but it only took it to 425bhp and 400tq. Stock ones were 270hp so it was just enough to make the car more fun. I re-read your post more closely and saw your performance numbers. Very impressive. I had a C5 with a Procharger done by a shop in Ventura. 500hp at the wheels. Fun car but I had it before I started racing. First engine I ever blew up. Huge amounts of white smoke pouring from the exhaust will seriously ruin your day. lol

I had a '70 standard that was going to be my first car, but it was too far gone to bring back. I was also a dumb kid and bit off more than I could chew, but I do still have a hopped up Cleveland we rebuilt to go in it. Cool that you got her 2 years ago; I got mine last year. I'm trying to keep mine pretty stock or not change anymore from stock than has already been done. Been kicking around the idea of switching from the points ignition to pertronix for better reliability because I do drive it a pretty fair amount when the weather is nice.

Yep, I am a member of the Cougaraholic group on facebook. They've helped me out quite a bit on various things I was working on.

Just picked this up. Not as amazing as some of your rides, but I love it.

Nice GN and LC2 powered Cobra guys. I like the Buicks. I've had an 87 WE4 since 1992.

    My first car.
I bought it in 1982 and still have it.

A few more of my cars. I collect cars like I do pins. This is my 86 Iroc and 78 vette. Both restored and nice drivers.

My uncle had a 79 black Vette, looked just like yours, when I was around 13 or 14 he used to let us drive it around the neighborhood. I thought he was the coolest dude around, its how I learned how to drive a manual trans.

    Quoted from o-din:

I believe you because I know of one just like it. I should have bought the thing when he offered me a screaming deal on it. But I got greedy and wanted the Boss 302 instead.

Why on Earth would take a small block over a big block!!!
