2017 Chevy SS (manual). I sold my beloved RX8 when my 2nd kid turned out to be my 2nd AND 3rd kids. Twins made something that could fit 3 car seats a necessity for me. It's very understated, but has a 6.2L LS3 with 415hp and 415 torque.

The guy will flip out if you even get any closer to it than a arms length away. Its a mean SOB i can tell you that also. He drives it around town with uncapped headers and racing slicks and it has the old style Craiger wheels on it. He usually gets it out 1 or 2 times a year and drives it around town for a few minutes and back to the garage it goes and gets covered up. He is the original owner and it is just stunning to look at.

It may be the 428 but for some reason 429 is really sticking in my head but the boss stripes are different than what his car has so it must be the 428. Its an amazing car though for sure, one of a kind pretty much.

I would love to see that car go through a classic car auction though just to see what it would bring because anybody who is a Mustang fanatic surely would be willing to pay huge money for this car. If it truly is an original 4000 mile car with original paint it would be worth a lot. I could tell if I saw a picture of it.
A guy I worked for has a low mile '69 428 Super Cobra Jet. We lived in the same apartments so it sat next to my '62 Corvette in the garage. He also acquired a 1969 Boss 302 and restored it. A very rare model as compared to the 1970. He runs an auto shop now and has a bunch of cars.
I always wanted a 1967 Shelby GT 500 with a 427 myself.

Yeah, those Eliminators were pretty nice. There was a 68 427 Cougar called a GT- E also. Very rare car.

Yeah they only made a few hundred but they weren't so rare back in the day. My buddy had one of those 427 Cougars as a daily driver. But that was like 40 years ago.

It truly is everything im telling you it is. The car has the original paint on it and it doesn't have a scratch on it that im aware of. The guy used to live on my street and i used to go talk to him all the time. He still lives close to me but he did move about 15-20 years ago and is probably around 70 years old now but he still has the car and he'll never sell it ever.
I guess there is probably a nicer one somewhere around out there that got garaged as soon as it was bought but i guarantee you that there is only very few in the world as nice as this one is.

I sold mine in 2007 right before the economy tanked for $50'000. It was a really nice driver. It was worth $30 thousand the next year. They have caught up again now.

That would have been a killer deal. I bought mine for $1300 in 1977. I bought a 1970 Boss 429 in 1976 for $1300 from a used car lot.It was missing the Boss motor but had a regular 429 in it. Turned out the dealer put 90 weight hypoid in the engine to quiet down the worn journals on the crank.I was just sick about it. Motor was shot.I bought and installed a 429 motor out of a junkyard and sold it for the same as I bought it. I sure wish I would have kept it.

Ouch....should have scooped that up sounds like o-din. The Ford AC Cobra is another Ford that id love to own. Heck I'd even love to own one of the Replicas. There are a few of them around where i live, beautiful cars. I would have to have the 427 of course.

That's not really true. Almost all 69/70 428 CJ/SCJ were Mach 1's with the stripes. The only difference between the CJ and SCJ was the SCJ had Lemans cap screw rods and special crank. External oil cooler and 3.91 or 4.30 gears for drag racing. Out of 13'000 mustangs in 1969 all were Mach 1's except a thousand.

The Boss 429 had no stripe . Just a Boss 429 sticker on the fender . Mine was Grabber Blue with white Boss 429 lettering.
I could probably still buy that Mach 1.... if I had the $60,000. I don't even want to know what the Boss 302 would run.

Suddenly that Mach 1 is looking more black than dark green. At least on this monitor. The one I know of is definitely dark green.

Jwilson i dont know much about fords because they just wasnt my thing but I actually do know quite a bit about cars and id be willing to bet that ive had several cars that will blow the doors off of anything that you have ever had. Q Code Engine production, 105 Hardtops, 2,765 Fastbacks, 50 Convertibles.
R Code Engine production, 138 Hardtops, 11,287 Fastbacks, 317 Convertibles.
Most of those Fastbacks were most likely Mach 1's. It is all good there jhanley, just my OCD catches stuff easily, and I missed the Mach 1 part of the story. Have been to many a Mustang show from Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, Spokane, and points in between. The non Mach 1 or non GT, that are equipped with a 428 really stand out in those shows.

If it has all the factory tags and crayon marks all over the place that really adds to the value.

Yeah , It's really unusual to see R or Q code cars that were not Mach 1's but they are out there. Mine had almost every option including Ram-Air,Tilt away steering wheel, Air conditioning and a FM radio which was a 3 or 4 hundred dollar option which was a lot then.

My pal had a 68 1/2 428SCJ. Green with the Mach stripe and shaker. Lived in his garage for a 20 year long restoration. When finally completed it was showroom. Spent a lot to get it right. Life caught up and it went for sale. In 2010 it went for 68K. It now lives down in Australia.

That's not Ram Air and it looks like a 351 Windsor in that picture.A Cobra jet has either chrome steel valve covers or aluminum ones.
Actually that's not even a Mach 1. It doesn't have body color dual racing mirrors.
