Bought brand new in 1989. Special ordered, still have the bill of sale. Used to be two tone grey, then purple, now Viper blue. 351 Windsor Nascar block, stroked to 393ci. 16 RT with 8 speed and super track pack. I bought it 3 weeks ago with 2100 miles. Never seen such a garage queen.

    Quoted from Darcy:

Think you should go to the car and look real close at it. Valiant Signet, right? It does qualify as a muscle car. 2 doors, 4 seats, V8 engine. With the long hood, and short trunk it could also be a pony car.

Funny you say that. When I took the wife to pick it up the other day she asked what it looked liked. I said like a poor man's Mustang. Like a pony car.

    Looking for a project Darcy?

My twin turbo 1000RWHP 2005 Ford GT. Most exciting and fun car I have ever owned. The three speeds on the time slip are my half mile, mile and 1.5 mile speed at an event I do regularly. The article was in hot rod magazine.

Great thread so far. I can’t possibly say which cars I like the best.

    #66 5 years ago

Barr 993 that is a nice GS! I hope to have one someday. Is that an Edelbrock B4B manifold on your engine? 510 ft lbs of torque!!!! I have an 87 WE4 Turbo Regal I've had since 92. A 70-72 GS 455 would be a great companion in the garage.

You mean my avatar and these 2 pictures? When it was good she treated me like a king but when it was bad it was REALLY bad. It got to the point I couldn't trust her farther then I could throw her. I found she did the dirty deed with my best friend so I threw her out. In fact it was the guy in the above picture facing the camera with the sun glasses on. He's dead now so he's not around anymore.

Yep those were the pics i was talking about. I never was a Ford fan but i gotta say that is one good looking Mustang you got. Theres a guy that lives down the street from me that has a 69 Mach 1 with a 429 Cobra Jet motor and the car has 4k original miles on it. Its blue with a gold stripe and it still looks like it did the day he drove it off of the lot. I would hate to think what that car must me worth.

Thanks, it is one of a kind. WOW only 4k and the original owner. Off the top of my head that car could be worth 90-100k if it's in as good a shape as you say.

This car im pretty sure came with a 429. I could be wrong on if its called a 429 cobra jet but im 99% sure that its a 429 engine. I haven’t seen the car in many years but im sure that its a 429. Paul would probably know if they made a 1969 Mach 1 with a 429 motor. Care to chime in on this Paul?

The only 429 motor in a 69 Mustang was a Boss 429. If it was stock as you said it was a 428 CJ in a Mach 1 . I owned one for 30 years. The first 429 CJ was put in a 1971 Mach 1.

Put a 75-100 shot of nitrous on that IROC and you could have a lot of fun.

The only 429 in a Mustang was the Boss 429, a semi hemi design, if you have one it's a 6 figure car. 69 and 70 MACH 1's were the 428's

Clean looking iroc. Always liked those, too. There used to be a ton of them on the road but not anymore. A good set of heads, performance cam, and better fuel delivery ought to get you plenty more power. Being a 350 and not a 305, should be easy to add power. Cheapest thing would be nitrous like pinkid said.

Pull that weak ass TPI 350 out of it and drop a LS3 into it and it will wake it up.

It won't stay together. Its a 230 HP car with 2 bolt mains. It isn't made for any power. The rear end most likely won't stay together either.

    #97 5 years ago

Cheapest would be 100hp shot of nos, I had a 125 hp shot on my stock 318 74 valiant ran great for years never had one problem, nocked more than a second off my quarter mile times, If you dont mind spending some cash stroke it out to a 383, probably wouldnt hurt to get a 4 bolt main block though.
