The issue with Munsters is the code not being that much fun. Use the ramps more. Use lighting effects more. Use spot more. There is a TON of potential here. I own the LE and think it will be a top 30 pin for sure if they can add some stuff. Theme is fun, layout is smooth, graphics are amazing, lower playfield is cool.

It’s just that there is nothing fun to do. I love the theme, but I don’t feel like there is any immersion. We should be hitting ramps and hearing Herman say stuff. Where are the big lighting effects? The Dragula car thing is so lame. Could be so much more exciting. And what about doing something more intersecting with the Herman target and magnet? Maybe a mode where you stash a ball on the magnet and hit ramps without releasing the ball. Hit enough ramps and you add a ball. Spot is so underused and lame. Seriously this code is so uninventive. Add lots more clips and audio, lighting effects, modes, bling, explosions. Seriously who wrote this code? A corpse?

Stern you f’kd is on this one. Not cool. You can fix it. We are waiting.

Such a wordsmith. I bow before your omnipotent wisdom. I wanted an LE. Looked cool. Videos looked fine. I just ant Stern to fix what is easily redeemed. I don’t care about the money or purchase. I just don’t want to have to replace the machine in my house. Such a hassle. It has potential.

This is what I sent to Dwight:

1. When playing the lower playfield (Grandpa’s Lab) it seems like you could use the upper playfield lighting to make it epic when you hit shots down there. (lightning shoots across the entire machine) It’s anticlimactic right now. SFX for the lower playfield are very muted also.

2. Dragula is kind of boring. Why not use the zap button here? You can drag race Dragula. Put a meter on screen and hit zap at the right time for the perfect race start and button smash to win the race.

3. Spot is very underused. Make a mode where he pops up briefly and you try and hit him. Big fire fx on screen.

4. There are some nice cut screen videos in the game. Need more. But the real question is how do you capture the fun side of the show in the game? Herman is a giant goofy funny guy. Assemble some short video clips of that characteristic and make a mode out of it. Hit ramps to trigger each video. Hit the final one to win the mode and get a video of Herman doing his best laugh or some other great quote.

5. Herman tries out for the Dodgers mode. Hit the left ramp for a home run. Cut to video Eddie says “Atta boy pop!” Avoid right ramp. Lily says “Oh Herman” score multiplies with each home run and decreases with each right ramp.

6. Use that clip of grand pa turning out the lights in the wrestling episode for a blackout mode. Hit Spot to turn the lights back on. -red fire lighting.

7. Needs a Marilyn mode playing on the ugly Marilyn joke.

Munsters should be fun, but it’s not really. We’ll see what they do.

Hobbit LE is the bomb. Love that game. Leaves Munsters in the dust.

Maiden and Deadpool are great games! Also just picked up a Star Wars Premium. Awesome underrated game! Not getting down on Stern, but Munsters lacks. Easily fixed, so I hope they address it.

Where’s the code? Make this game more fun. It’s not about depth as much as atmosphere.

I am hopeful they will jack up the software soon. Game has much potential.

The fact that there are a ton of unused clips in the game, that are just sitting in memory proves that a major code update is needed. I just cancelled my Elvira LE order. I’m done with this crap with Stern. 15 new in the box LEs or premiums is enough. Just going to enjoy the games I have for a while. And if there is no word on Munsters code soon, I’m going to sell it. I played it today and it’s so boring.
