Quoted from Who-Dey:

Hell yeah dude, not even close.

I rather have Munsters as well over BK3. The constant heavy drumming in the BK3 main theme would drive me nuts after a while. The Munsters premium / LE mini playfield looks pretty cool, detailed and resembles something from the theme versus the large unappealing metal catapult ball lock in BK3 with a couple plastics screwed to it. The lack of a second ramp in BK3 also hurts the games layout in my opinion.

BK3 code doesn't look very deep currently. There's 5 main modes, and a wizard mode. Theres mulitballs in there too and the classic mode but I don't see 5 modes being enough considering there are not 2nd and 3rd level variants of them.

As others have said it's the theme integration that needs to improve. Stern has the assets to the show, use more of them! Theme integration is partially what helps bring a theme in a pinball machine to life. Hearing few and repeated callouts gets old. Ideally there should be unique callouts from the show for each character mode and for each level of Munster Madness. I understand that Stern wanted to create a more simple / straightforward ruleset with Munsters. That's cool. However, there's no excuse for not loading the game up with a wide variety of assets from the show.

This thread should be shut down. It was started in bad faith by someone who doesn't like the type of games that Munsters was modeled after in the first place. Of course they think the code is "bad." The original post is worthless and the original poster has not added anything to the discussion since then.
Also lol @ those games not being challenging.... "OK."

You also said in the Ghostbusters code thread that the game doesn't need an Are You a God wizard mode, bug fixes or really anything else...

For today's NIB prices a majority of owners are expecting not only deep but but also unique code. If Munsters was intended to be a more basic game with less code thats cool but that should be reflected by a lower price. When a Munsters premium costs as much as a Batman premium and Star Wars premium it's reasonable to expect similar code depth.

Quoted from tpir:

This is not reasonable at all!! You are paying for entertainment. Some like deep, some like shallow, some like both. This is very unreasonable though to expect a price difference.

You are also paying for the work that goes into the game and that includes code. Any pinball machine is just a box of lights without code. The more code added to a game, and the more unique it is the greater the amount of resources (programming time) went into the game overall.

Theres no reason for all Stern games to be priced the same when some have more features and far more code work then others.

It's been 30 months since Ghostbusters was last updated and we just got confirmation that Stern is finally working on a new code update. If my calculations are correct that means a new Munsters code update should be on schedule for January of 2022.

I understand Stern creating a more simpler ruleset for Munsters. However, at least load the game up with more video clips and audio from the show. Also, each level of character modes and Munster madness should feel unique with its own video / audio clips and rules.

Towards the end of the GB code update stream Dwight said when asked "There are no plans for a Munsters update". That sounds like the current plan but I hope it changes over the next couple years. It's still a shame that owners of most Stern games need to wait years for them to be polished.

Quoted from Midway-Man:

New code is out 1.01 no one saw that coming.

Looks like topper improvements.

New:
- Added a Topper test in the diagnostics.
- The plus (+) button will move the hand to the next hour first going
around a couple times and then stop.
- The ENTER button will make the raven come out for a couple seconds and
say the current hour.

Tweaked:
- Improved the Topper clock. The hand will spin around a couple times before
coming to a stop on the desired hour.
