Suffer The Children
Quoted from jgentry:If you think most lower playfields are half the game you haven't played many of them. In this case you get more of the full game with the pro then on most games. No one in the US is paying 6000+ for a pro either. $5600 delivered or cheaper all day.
Yeah but the pro looks pretty generic. Yeah there's cool wireworms, but the game certainly doesn't stand out without the lower playfield.
Quoted from MikeS:The B&W Premium looks awesome! By far my favorite looking version of the game. The lower playfield does look sweet but I wonder if it will get old after a while? Pro may end up being the sleeper best game... Pro Vault in B&W in a few years?
All lower play fields "get old" eventually. It just has to be important enough from a rules standpoint to enjoy (aka tolerate) it.
Quoted from TheLaw:Borg/code is what would be keeping me from buying this one now.
That's it though?
Quoted from DavidPinballWizz:Maybe too early to tell... but software doesn't seem deep?
What I saw was levels of jackpots and stacking jackpots (abort with zap button) to combine them? Anyone know how that works?
For the rest the modes grandpa (lower pf and multiball in lower pf), herman (multiball), lily, spot, raven (multiball) for munster madness (wizard mode)
playfield multiplier by dracula ---> kitty shot
add a ball / mystry from left catapult shot
Anything else I'm missing? Eddie inserts on the loops, what do they do?
I wouldn't be surprised if this was basic "show code" and there's brand new code loaded for the Thursday stream with Dwight.
Just the fact that there is a twitch stream with the Code Lead is a good sign.
I'd keep in mind that this a campy theme here. Don't expect TWD kids.
Quoted from TheLaw:Generally not well regarded for the first year or so, got it.
True but at the same time, Lyman keeps chugging along, despite the initial release. This isn't Lyman deep code. I think it'll be "fun code."
Quoted from TheLaw:Well we'll see. I can't make 2 posts without hearing Dwight's SW code is way too deep for anyone to learn.
Trying to be optimistic. I don't want "Game of Munsters" or something.
Quoted from underlord:I don’t remember Lyman helping with Dwight code. I know he’s saved the others butts a few times.
Didn't explain myself properly. I know it's Dwight. Just saying that I don't believe it'll be "TWD deep".
Quoted from westofrome:Good post - I think the issue can be boiled down to just a handful of things:
*B/W: most games have subways and in-playfield ball troughs which redirect/divert the ball, as well as multiple wireforms providing unique ball paths. Stern: no subways or ball redirects, ball bounces off things or shoots directly back out the way it came in. (this is probably the single biggest reason Stern games tend to feel the same).
etc.
Quoted from Rum-Z:The one exception here is the presence of the subway coffin ball lock on Stern's Metallic Premium and Limited Editions, which surprised the heck out of me, and was one of the reasons I had to get a Metallic with the hammer/coffin ball lock mech. I honestly never thought we'd see any subway in any modern Stern.
The Ghost Busters Premium and Limited Edition subway ball lock is a little bit of a subway too (on a small scale).
True, but those are both locks for multi ball. No redirect during play. MET lock is my favorite in pinball.
Quoted from JY64:Just sold my AC/DC after 6 yr was down to AS , SW , MBr , would have bought TM premium if not for BW will go MBr
