Quoted from MK6PIN:So I posed the question on Stern's facebook page ...too funny!!!
https://www.facebook.com/sternpinball/posts/10156988061229244?comment_id=10156989933749244
Quoted from MK6PIN:I actually responded that I loved my BM66, but was suspicious of his answer...
(the second part is not staying on the post....)
(wait..that's not Batman...it's a robot!!)
I guess this confirms that Munsters is going to be a BM66 re-skin.
I'm theorizing that all of the Munsters machines have been built and warehoused with the glass off for the past year so they can be shipped with authentic cobwebs between the playfield parts.
I wonder if there were television viewers that considered color TV the Pin Stadium of the time.
Weren't there Rainbow color wheels that attached to front of B&W televisions back in the day?
Edit: Yep. I found Pin Stadiums grandpa.

Black and white would be amazing. I would love to see a monochromatic pin. I worry more about how fun it is.
The Beatles theme and rainbow artwork was crap, but I like Seawitch 2.0 play.
What if Stern did it in all B&W, but the white (light green) paint is glow in the dark paint. Black light general illumination and glow balls.
Spooky and colorful.
Quoted from wolfemaaan:So what will be the next date for Munsters when Stern turns out The Smurfs on Tuesday at CES?
Thanks!!!
Now I’m whistling THAT theme song.
Quoted from benheck:I hope it's TOTALLY black and white.
Like, even the lighting.
Jack Danger should troll us all and do the first half of his Twitch stream in B&W so nobody can tell what’s going on.
There were ball-save options in the menu when they adjusted the volume. Maybe they just turned it off for the stream.
Quoted from Rarehero:You see vibrant, I see "busy". Resolution has nothing to do with vibrancy. You can watch beautifully shot B&W movies on a 4KTV. Light, shadow and cinematography can be gorgeous in black and white. Just depends on the artist. Anyway - I think all 3 versions look great. Glad there are options for all tastes.
I would argue that the Black and Chrome (B&W) edition of 'Mad Max: Fury Road' was better than the color theatrical release. You should definitely watch it if you haven't seen it.
I'm tired of all of the Monochromophobia in this thread.
The Premium looks spooktacular on all levels!!!
I like the color that the lights and inserts add, but I can't help wondering how it would look if they went warm white LEDs for everything.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Glad you and others like the Premium best - that makes more LE's available for those of us that disagree with you regarding them!
I'm glad everyone here is starting to understand that it's okay to like different things as long as we all agree that pinball rocks.
BTW, the Premium IS better.
The extra 100 LE's will probably cover the 1.5% of Stern's customer base that has an unnatural fear of B&W pinball artwork and an extreme desire to play in Grandpa Munster's basement.
Quoted from JodyG:There is a location machine near me where the operator refuses to make this adjustment on the two scoops in Ghostbusters. I guess he wants super short ball times.
I like it when operators remove the rubber from the out-lanes, or worse, remove the out-lane posts completely.
I can find somewhere else to play if that's the kind of greedy bastard you want to be.
Quoted from PinMonk:The cheap-ass Lily and Dragula mono-target block is just another cost-reduction.
In the Dead-Flip Twitch stream for the premium, Borg specifically says that it was his decision to make those targets large "mono-targets" so that more inexperienced players could enjoy getting those modes more easily.
Quoted from PinMonk:Ah, the old "as designed" chestnut.
They're not hard to hit. Individual targets would have been only a smidge harder, but a needed smidge, apparently.
I agree that it sucks. Standup targets or even better, drop targets would be much preferred by almost anyone reading this thread.
It’s obvious that Stern is catering to the average arcade wanderer and not the beer-league players on pinside. Borg and Dwight both mentioned multiple times that certain design decisions were made because the average person didn’t know pinball.
They changed “Switches score double” to “ Everything scores double” because most people don’t know what switches are. They put in mono-targets. They made level 1 on the table easy to beat every game. They turned ball-save off by default because ball-save is confusing.
Quoted from Shapeshifter:If I was on the fence those targets would be a deal breaker for sure.
Honestly, those targets aren’t a big deal. The rest of the game looks amazing. This little detail is the stinker, but it likely won’t affect the fun factor at all.
I’ll still be dropping pockets full of quarters into the Premium that my local arcade just ordered.
I think the title of this thread needs to change again. “Munsters Hysteria” is starting to seem more fitting. This train just keeps on arollin’.
Quoted from Pinhead1982:Sooo.. to early to talk about TOPPER possibilities!??
What do people want to see?
A dragula with light up exhaust pipes that burns out and raises it's front wheels off the ground.
