The gold legs are bad ass

GoldGold

Let's not forget the original leaked artwork.

I could go either way on this. Send my back box hinge, side rails, and lockdown bar off to be painted gold, or, like Magicchiz, install black legs with gold bolts.

I do like the all gold look but isn’t this a concept drawing?
All gold would have been sweet though for sure

So if you look at the now photo. It just makes sence to go black with gold highlights. Saves ya a whole bunch of $.

Let’s get this straight. Casper is so superior to My Pillow it’s not even funny.
Don’t buy your pillows from a dude with a dyed mustache, people.

Quoted from Who-Dey:

These are fantastic pillows Guinness. I do know people that dont like them but i know lots of people that wouldn't take anything for theirs and I'm one of those people. I have serious spine problems from getting hit by a car on my motorcycle and the Mypillow has been a blessing for me. I literally couldn't find any pillow that i liked and i went through a bunch of them and finally the Mypillow was the answer. I love mine.

I have one and for a stomach sleeper, it's probably the worst pillow I've ever had. Like sleeping on a bag of packing peanuts.

Quoted from GamerRick:

Let's hope it's just "looks like".

What do you expect for a machine that costs $2500 to make?

#7557 5 years ago

The absurdity of spending money on replacement legs, etc on day 1 of buying a NIB pin. What a time to be alive.

Any new deliveries of LE's? Only seen two and they went to the same place.

Gold Legs are reserved for nothing but the classiest of pinball machines.

I got mine set up yesterday...I tossed up a quick review in the Munsters club (1313) and a few pictures

So LE is 9G and only the legs are powder-coated?

AC DC premiums have powder coating. Why not Munsters LE?

With the LEs arriving I get its time to bash the LE but that shit looks hella cool

Quoted from Butch2099:

Not sure what AC/DC has to do with it, but it's the first-time Stern has released a game with powder-coated legs without matching armor. Really odd. From my perspective, the legs and armor should match. Stern really up'd their game with art/artists...don't know why they would make this decision (other than saving a few bucks).

#7567 5 years ago

I am not much of a fan of powder coating in general. Anything but black starts to look like a 16 year old's 2004 Honda Civic decked out with a fart can and plasti-dip covered wheels.

#7568 5 years ago
Quoted from snaroff:

Not sure what AC/DC has to do with it

uh.. because it's a game that Stern just released as a PREMIUM tier (not even LE) recently with full powdercoat... for thousands of dollar less. On the 'more expensive to build' SAM platform no less.

Yeah... no idea why someone would bring that up as a relevant comparison for a STERN sold game...

You answered your own question

Quoted from JodyG:

I am not much of a fan of powder coating in general.

Nor am I usually, but sometimes, it works. MBrLE’s look awesome in the dark blue metallic, but I don’t go out of my way to add it to existing pins. I was always a stainless and chrome kind of guy. When you buy your machine off an operator, I was always just pleased to get 4 legs that matched. Right now, I think I have chrome and factory Stern Black, and the set on my Bride is painted I think. It really comes down to personal preference. I prefer my machines with four legs. And hopefully they match.

If you mean talk about anything that's wrong. Suggest ways to fix it .or let stern know in Hope's they will fix in the near futher. Then yes. Oh and I agree it does look hella nice! And talk about all the good stuff too.. I think we should do both

#7572 5 years ago

Just one person’s humble opinion here...

I’ve played both the Pro and LE here in NYC and have to say IF I were to be buying this long term (and I’m not) this would be a pro buy.... not just because it’s better value, but because it’s genuinely a better pin.

The lower playfield is beautiful and an appealing novelty, but I feel the lower Playfield would drag down the gameplay over time. There is also a lot of complexity in saving up/canceling jackpots and zap button action that affects approachability.

I will enjoy playing this on location, but won’t be my next pin purchase.

This is how i feel about the lower playfield personally but i for whatever reason just dont like lower playfields. The good thing about it is though is that it can be turned off if people choose to do so. Even though most people wont want to do that, its nice that its an option. The only thing that i differ with you on is i think this game is worthy of buying.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy a version that they pay 2500 AUD more for that gives you one extra thing only in regards to playability............ and then disable it.

I would not... someone seemed to have a problem with it... buy the lesser model then......

#7581 5 years ago

Oh yeah, didnt mean you , mine was a general question about why anyone would do that

Quoted from Wotto:

In theory you wouldn't do that but most of us can't play a.LE or a Premium so you really don't know if you will like, love, or hate the lower playfield until you get the game. My point is, if you get an LE or a Premium and find out that you don't like the lower playfield as good as you thought that you would, its pretty nice that it can be disabled. Its also nice to be able to have the option to disable it if you have a problem with it. You could just turn it off and keep playing your game until its fixed.

Looks like flat black with krinkle finish to me. On the web, too.

They'll be making mine match, that's for sure!

Stern should’ve did what it was originally intended, gloss black with heavy gold flake powder coat to represent the George Barris 60s rat rod Dragula iconic look. Black krinkle finish is cheap as far as I’m concerned for a limited edition. Just another cost cut for the bean counters.

#7584 5 years ago

No Munsters game yet but i just ordered these from Bradford Exchange to keep me happy until I do get one.

It’s my pet hate. Give me almost any other metal finish but black crinkle.

Reminds me of the cheap garage storage shelves you get from discount hardware stores.

Where in NYC can we play an LE? Did Sunshine or Modern get one?

#7587 5 years ago
Quoted from cooked71:

It’s my pet hate. Give me almost any other metal finish but black crinkle.

The reason they use flat black crinkle is to hide the defects in the metalwork. Like the spot welds on the lock bar.

If you look at most lock bars on an angle, generally you can see a couple of divots where the welds are. The flat crinkle finish hides this well.

If you’ve ever had anything blasted and repowdercoated in a gloss finish, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

At the metalshop, they’d pick the best 5% of lockbars for the fancier gloss finishes they offer, the rest would get the flat black crinkle treatment.

Yeah, it's gonna be a problem, but everyone knew there would be something like this when he became a distributor. You can't be honest about the duds when you're simultaneously trying to sell said duds. He was at least half the show, and reading other people's opinions is not the same - it comes off poorly, and it's impossible to care about the ratings of these invisible "others" as a result.

It definitely makes it tough to review the products that you sell for sure. Whatever Zach does i will respect his decision and stand behind him because hes a good guy and he loves pinball and he’s good for the hobby. I am extremely happy for Zach and his accomplishments that he has made and i wish him nothing but the best. I know that he is going to become one of the top distributors in a short amount of time.

It's true, but what does SDTM bring in for $$$? Better to be a distributor.

Of course, this would be solved if pinball makers just consistently made better games.

Could be i guess. I really hope that Stern puts some thought into this topper and doesnt try to sell us some cheap POS with a flashing light for 400.00 dollars. If any pin ever deserved a kick ass topper, it is this one!

Agreed, not a fan of hearing Zack read someone else's opinion. But happy they're still doing the show regardless!
