Quoted from friscopinball:-Super vivid hand drawn art and not tied down to any style (it pops)
-Maybe a new module?
-Lots of stuff packed into the game (the kitchen sink)
-How they got so much stuff into a P3 module? Tons of shots and toys (industry firsts)
-Best feeling shot in pinball?
-Half of the day was trying to hit specific shots and not worrying about story mode because how fun it was
-Deeper than Heist
-Go preorder a P3 bc this is their Mona Lisa
-New flipper kit feels real and has better power to them
-If you own a P3, buy the flipper upgrade kit
-Crazy light shows on the head to head kits
-Playfield module will be accompanied by two items
What are the 2 items? Is Multimorphic moving into the topper business?
I think that seeing the gameplay will reveal a lot. Could end up being like Godzilla. Wasn't the most popular theme, but was done so well that it has become one of the best. I will say that I was more excited about previous non-licensed themes from Multimorphic than this one. That makes me hopeful that this theme allowed enough creativity on their part to make it great. I think the artwork looks good so far and I have a lot of confidence in the music based on TNA and R&M.
I wonder how many boxes of unreleased parodies are in his closet because the original artists didn't give permission.
Quoted from TreyBo69:He asks permission before he does it
The only major issue I think he had was with Amish Paradise. Coolio’s record company gave approval but Coolio was first upset because he wasn’t directly asked/informed. But Coolio got over it and apologized for being ugly about it at the time.
I was imagining that he created drafts prior to asking to give the artist an idea of what they were consenting to.
Quoted from manadams:I see the standard playfield module listed at 3K on website, any mention of what the LE package cost is yet?
Looks like the LE package is an extra $1800. I'm kind of disappointed that Multimorphic is going the route of limiting and charging separate for different art packages (especially when it comes to the digital art on the back box). My original draw to the P3 was the vast options and customization that it gave to it's users. This seems like a step in the direction of Stern where it's more about generating hype, FOMO and exclusivity. They could just charge $1800 for the topper and signed translite. Seems like there is a rather robust topper market that exists.
My point at the end was in reference to that specifically. Understandably, it's something that should be limited. My gripe was more with the limitations put on the digital art. If you're limiting access to digital features I don't think it's a stretch to see it continue in the future with other features.
I'm not necessarily saying it's a bad business model. Might just be the way of the world. Look at Stern or Fortnite and YouTube for that matter. If the worry is leaving money on the table, there are plenty of threads here that would outline how they should become more like a "real" pinball companies.
As a consumer it's just not what I see as value in the platform.
Too me, the only point of it is to feed into the collectable aspect of the pinball market. The part made up of people that buy games in the hopes of flipping them later for more money. A signed translite is a collectable. I don't see how limited access to digital content is. (I also think NFTs are stupid if that's a counter argument).
Quoted from Frax:Well for one thing, you can't just expect a celebrity to sign a potentially unlimited number of items. That's just not reasonable, so the translite was *always* going to be limited in some fashion.
Quoted from chaz009:Good luck to everyone trying to get an LE today. I was considering it but my wife just went into labour with our twins … making me reconsider some things.
But that means one more for someone else!
Congrats! Pins can wait.
Curious what the thoughts are of people that have played Al at TPF. Hopefully, people that have played it start to add ratings on here.
Quoted from arcyallen:For everyone that put down deposits, I'm curious: are they transferrable/sellable? I've seen plenty of Halloween and Ultraman deposits for sale, but not one Weird Al. I figured either you can't transfer it (ouch) or everyone is so dedicated they'll ride out the wait. Anyone willing to put down a deposit and wait a year for a pin they hadn't played is pretty friggin' dedicated!
I believe Multimorphic will transfer the deposit for a $100 fee. I also think they are giving refunds if they miss your ship date by 6 months.
Quoted from KevInBuffalo:Increase the volume of the background music, then lower overall volume.
I did the same thing. Just a different way of approaching your problem.
Quoted from Mundy53:I’m 4 away at 1334.
Fingers crossed for Christmas.
It's worth the wait ..
Quoted from wise1919:No problem, glad I could help!
I don't think it has any unpacking instructions specifically for the zip tie. That zip tie is easy to overlook. My buddy purchased a P3 off of me and when I went over to his house I noticed right away that the Harvey wheel wasn't working right.
I've owned mine since November and I just realized this. It's so small and looks like it was put there as a permanent fix for something.
Quoted from rockrand:Has anybody come up with a hamster ramp replacement, what is the problem with the Orginal is it spring steel?
I wasn't aware of a problem with the ramp. Mine seems to function well. Is it just hard to get the ball up? Or has it broken in some way?
Quoted from solarvalue:I know, right? Should be #1.
I don't think any modern game should really be compared to the golden Bally/Williams era. But Weird Al is way better than a lot of other modern games and definitely better than at least a couple of the games listed in the top 20. Not naming any names.
