A possibly idiot question -
Why the different lighting between the two machines? One looks cool-white, one looks warm?

Mmmmm..... CAKE!!
I don't know if it was my mood or what; but the latest proto "feels" more polished to me. I can't put my finger on it specifically; but it felt new and different. Things I noticed right away:
1) The upper PF module has better lighting and the plastics make the machine appear complete.
2) The game media is getting closer to production release. Maybe the machine was louder; but I defiantly heard more voice acting in this software build. "virtual" inserts now have sound effects... and when the lane switches combine; there is a "BonusX" voice call out that sounds awesome.
3) "Hurry" scoops seem new in the code as well.
4) The player subtract mode (Aka Zitt mode) works well. I saw others push the start button by accident... so unsure if I can take full credit for that move.
5) High score screen is cool. And some of the ingame art like hurry up / lane collect awards seem new as well.
6) Mode specific balls saves FTW!
The only constructive thing I have to say is I'm not a fan of the multi-button lane switch mode. I just couldn't wrap my head around using the other buttons during ball play (other than flippers). Maybe a setting to enable "traditional" lane select via the flippers would be my desired setting.

The old machine's backbox uses a white LED strip for light, whereas the new machine has fully configurable RGB lighting elements. The new machine also illuminates the upper p/f with fully configurable RGB GI elements. Even the P3 in the backbox is separately RGB lit.
Customers will be able to dial in the color of each element separately to their liking.

Request and ye shall receive. I'm pretty confident most, once they have a chance to adapt, will prefer using alternate buttons for moving the inlane/outlane icons, but having a legacy option is no big deal / easy to implement.
Having multiple buttons gives us the opportunity to control features in ways that make more sense. In traditional 1-button-per-side machines, there simply aren't any options. Another example is our accessibility feature that lets people control both flippers with one hand. We simply re-map the buttons such that two buttons on the same side can activate the flippers.

Ah! That's very smooth! Well done!
Looks Fantastic - this is how preorders should be - plenty of updates and plenty of chance to play with the machine hands on (unless you live in Oz ) I don't know if you've changed position of the overhead camera or the changes to the GI but your camera setup seems to show the whole playfield a lot better than it did before - you can easily see the upper playfield now. Maybe it's time for another video (hint hint). Congratulations and Happy Birthday!

This one will have to do for now!

Maybe that's what he meant by "this will have to do for now"
Edit: nope, awesome video. The new prototype looks really sharp.
I saw some nice flow shots towards the end of the video and it's great how much information can be shown to the player on the LCD, very clear what to shoot for.
It just blows my mind to think that this is just the first game on a multi-game system. It's like when the first video game consoles came out, so much potential.
Yes. One on the left is the new pre-production prototype and IIRC features a traditional wood cabinet.

First of all, I think the accessibility considerations are awesome. When has accesibility EVER been considered in this industry? So awesome.
Secondly, one of the highlights on the Houston Arcade Expo is John Costa's one-handed beer tournament on his custom funhouse. I love that any P3 platform game can be set up for this unique and fun tournament option.
