Quoted from moat-pin:

Thanks for the suggestions. I woke up this morning, powered up and now screen is back on. I have guests coming so not going to mess with it until they leave (the ambience is way better when that screen is actually on!).

Just leave it on! I have had my P3 on (with Heist, Lexy, Al, CL and CCR playfields installed) for DAYS.

Just curious: How often does everyone swap playfields?

When I get a new playfield it can stay in for months!

Less than I used to. Weird Al has stayed for a while. I just took it out to try that fox ruins game on ccr but put wierd Al back In after

I was wondering if this is ok to do. I’ve done overnight and the start button feels a bit warm when I do so wondering if it’s a bad habit to leave in for couple days in not

If your Lexi screen is intermittent, and is now working, I can understand leaving it on until your guests leave.

As an owner of a few older pins, I know that electronics can go bad just sitting there with the power *off*. Still, they will go bad faster with the power on. Heat will cause capacitors to dry out faster and so on.

Also the "air gap" power switch provides protection against power surges. Then there is the power and money savings of not leaving a pin on all the time.

Some may point out that the warm-up cycle is not a good thing, as the temp changes cause everything to expand and contract a different rates. I'm assuming only 1 or 2 power cycles per day, not dozens.

Not often. My game room area has become smaller after building a hockey practice area for my kid; as a result it’s a tight squeeze getting O3 playfields in and out. I’ve just had Weird Al in there since I got it months ago. Really hoping Multimorphic figures out the speaker panel situation soon; I paid a lot in premium for that LE kit.

CCR owners - what do you do with Cosmic Cart Racing? I like the idea of the races and avoiding crashes (drains?)- and having two different types of modes 1) more of a time or points or progress mindset (Arcade), and 2) career mode sounds really cool, and I like the idea of having upgradable engine tires, etc. But what are people going for in terms of targets/achievements? Not everything has to “be complete the six modes and achieve mini wizard, then achieve three multi balls, and then a final wizard mode”…. But I am struggling a little bit to understand my objective. (Yes, I know my objective is to have fun and enjoy flipping- which I do! But still, I feel like I’m missing something)

Get Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It makes more pinball sense. There is no point really to cart racing. I enjoy it for what it is. Mindless flipping to make green shots.

That game is intentionally designed NOT to be like a traditional pinball game (well, single player mode kind of is). Get points, go to new tracks… as has been stated, get RITR and SA to really flesh out that playfield

I like to play story mode and try to progress. Build up tons of money to buy cart upgrades and my rpm’s. I like it a little more as I can figure out what to do

Got my Lexy yesterday. Needed some repairs after the shipping gorillas had their fun playing soccer with it. At least it’s functional. Ugggh.

Just think how bad the damage would have been if it was not marked "Fragile"!

Meh. I think the gorillas see it more as "challenge accepted" thing when they see fragile stamped all over a package.

#2765 3 months ago

Argh! I'm glad I can just drive to the Multimorphic and pick them up when ready.
That way; shipping damage is entirely my fault.

#2766 3 months ago

Looks like these modules need to be double boxed, i.e. an inner box that is suspended in another box with space between the two boxes.

With the amount of weight/pressure that was applied to bend the habitrails that much I don’t think it would have made a difference. You can't always compensate for stupid/careless shipping gorillas.

Personally, When heavy things are involved, I've had a better experience with the purple & orange shipper than the brown & gold shipper.

Have you guys had a similar experience?

- Mark

#2769 3 months ago

No. Purple and Orange absolutely fed-up a set of side rails I sent to Florida. These were custom jobs from Germany.
They refused to honor any damage claim even tho it was clear they damn near bent the box in half.
I had to eat the cost of the rails... and shipping from Germany (again) just to make the customer whole. I won't do side rails because of that experience.

Both brown and purple sux balls. Neither care about the customer's product... nor do they honor any insurance claims. Their mode of operation is "never our fault" even when it is.

So; f-them all. The only trust worthy shipper is me, myself, and I.

How much to deliver a playfield module to the Detroit-Metro area? ; -)

Quoted from chillme:

Based on my experience, and horrible local FedEx and UPS depots, would really like to see some module packaging improvements. Perhaps double boxed with impact absorbing material in-between. Or even a wood crate - but this may require use of a common carrier. Even wonder if changing to a glossy white box with colored printing/stickers of the contents would help - less likely to manhandle an iMac than power tool.

Maybe improved packaging could be offed as an option if it would also serve as a module storage solution, e.g. stackable crates.

I’m sure Gerry has/is carefully considering changes. They may not be justified based solely on % of issues / direct financials, but perhaps are warranted when indirect marketing aspects are included in the analysis.

Pelican case option for a new playfield would solve the shipping damage.

Has anyone had any luck with multimorphic support?

The metal side art fell off my cab because it looks like it was installed with some shitty double stick tape. I've reinstalled in 4 times and it finally fell off and dented the corner of the metal plate.

Also the right target bank LEDS just stopped working after about a week.

I sent an email to support 4 days ago and crickets. Not even an acknowledgement of receipt.

What do I need to do in order to get some help with my machine?

I appreciate that - I just would expect at least a response for warranty support on a brand new 12k pinball machine. I bought direct so I don't have a distributor advocate at this point. I'm not really familiar with discord isn't that like a community chat room?

Yes. It’s intuitive enough. I’m really grateful I went though a distributor on this one. Lots of activity there and a helpful group that will respond much quicker than the company typically. Granted Gerry and and the tech team are monitoring the discord group and try to assist as well.

Yeah, it’s a community chat and they are helpful. They helped me with one of my modules. Customer support is there but can be slow from multimorphic from my experience but the community support is great.

I've had great luck with support and have had more issues than I'd like. It has been my experience they are very responsive IF you open a ticket on their website.

Not sure what you mean by metal side art, but the side lights not working is a loose ribbon cable issue most likely. I had that issue. If you pull out the flippers, screen, and protector you can see from underneath and re attach. Good luck!

Here is how to fix the light. Do the following videos in order. You will have to disconnect 4 connectors I believe.

Once you do this you will be able to peer up from the bottom into the area where your lights are not working. There is a 99% chance there is a loose ribbon cable that you can just push in firmly and reseat to repair. I think those shake loose in shipping on ALOT of machines. Good luck!

Yes very common and an east fix,99.9 % sure loose ribbon!

Yep. I still haven't fixed mine on the right side; there's a delicate balance between getting enough slack on that ribbon cable to keep it installed, and not allowing it to hang over the playfield and mess up the cross-mesh optos

I think it's time to say goodbye to Al and swap in Heist... haven't played that in a long time

I've gotten FABULOUS support when opening a ticket on their support site. Sometimes it's Gerry himself.

As others have said, if you bought the game directly from multimorphic and not thru a distributor... Then a ticket will get you the support you need. Email isn't tracked or shared with multiple team members, so you need to file a support ticket.

If you bought via a distributor, you need to go thru them for support.

Same. And not that long ago. I know they've gotten a little busier but between the automatic logging (sometimes THEY reach out first!) and the crack squad of folks there, I'm really surprised to hear anyone is having trouble getting through

#2790 3 months ago

Just a follow up - support reached out to me today. Sounds like next time I just need to open a ticket vs using email. I didn't realize there was a ticketing system. We're on the way to getting my small issues resolved.

I have been disapointed by the sheer volume of issues I've had with my P3, but multimorphic has been very responsive and helpful resolving every ticked I have opened. My Weird Al and Heist are fully operational, and I'll be plugging CCR in after a few weeks to get the last few kinks ironed out there. The issues do eventually get resolved.

I just got a used P3 yesterday with Weird Al. So I’m new to the club! After the seller dropped it off and left, I realized that the upper right flipper is weak and won’t hold up. It will flip but not hold. Any suggestions?

#2795 3 months ago

Manually lift the flipper to its apex then hold the button, and do the same on the left side. Does it hold when you let go? Any differences between the two sides? Remove the side target cover (if installed) and check for any mechanical issues when flipping. You're looking for a difference between flips. Perhaps linkage scraping against the upper plastic cover for that assembly?

The support wiki (on multimorphic.com) contains lots of great technical documents, including one about removal and installation of side target assemblies. If you have a mechanical issue, you should follow this document to remove the assembly and make corrections as needed.

If the power is set too low for that flipper then it won’t hold. What is it set to? Try increasing it a bit and see if that helps.

If you're new to the club, check out the Multimorphic support site. It's phenomenal, and addresses this exact issue and many many more.
