I've had real arcades, multicades and MAME machines. I've bought, sold, and built them all. In my opinion, most "AVERAGE" gamers will not realize the difference between "real" arcades and multi machines / emulators. If it's fun and you enjoy it....then that is all that matters. Besides, buying the real hardware can be EXTREMELY expensive when compared to buying multi machines.

I myself love Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo....and have played it for MANY years. That is one game that I myself can tell the difference between the real hardware and anything else.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

I got my Pandora's Box 6 today and I am having trouble. I have a perfect picture and sound, but cannot get the controls to work. I disconnected the ground wires at E-27 on the JAMMA harness. The rest of the pinout seems to match up. I am able to add credits, but that's it. No joystick or player button input. Any suggestions?
Also, any ideas on how to tell if it's a legit PB? It has the pink embossed plastic casing.
*UPDATE* So, for whatever reason, the ground going to the control panel just wasn't working with the PB6. I noticed I could still individually trigger the buttons by shorting them to a different ground. I ended up jumpering a new ground connection to the loop for the control panel and now it's working.

The Pandora Box carts are not jamma. They are "Chinese jamma". To get these to work properly, you need to buy an adapter or modify your jamma harness....which it appear you already did.

The Darksoft Kit is a must have in my opinion.

This is the best, arcade comes with a crt screen. [quoted image]

Astro City cabs were the best. I miss the one I had.

Quoted from Betelgeuse:

Yup, I am still running CRTs in all 4 of my cabs. It really adds to the authentic arcade experience, imo. If I had to play on LCD, I would just play them on my tv and sell most of the cabs. I'm afraid these CRTs are like ticking time bombs. One by one they will ultimately kick the bucket and there's just not much hope for the future.

Every year it seems less and less people are repairing CRTs.
