Quoted from Darkwing:

Dude, standing up to play the cabinet actually is an issue once your back starts getting grumpy. Maybe the right comfy barstool could help. My back always gets sore before im actually done playing on the cab =\

I have a japanese sit down cabinet. They got it right from the beggining. I still don’t know why arcades everywhere else had stand up cabinets.

I just replaced my mame PC with a Raspberry Pi and a Pi to Jamma adapter. The emulation is top notch, it fits in the cabinet with way less cables and it's quiet.

Oh it also cost me 100$ instead of 500 for the PC

I will never understand these giant panels covered with a gazillion buttons, and joysticks, and christmas tree lights, I guess I'm an old school type of guy !

Quoted from LordHumungus:

same for me. 2nd would be a multi cart with a good quality Neo Geo cab. The AL 3 gives me all the best stuff and not too much either, I've have several multicade's with mame or Jamma and u just end end scrolling through 1000's of games but only ever playing a handful. There's something to be said for the fact that's everything is licensed and in a cab made for the experience. The rest look like garage projects 2 me. I had a Pac Man Party and while it was great for a short while, how many times can u play pac man? or Ms. Pac Man before u get bored with it, same for Donkey Kong.

Having zillions of roms is all about organizing them in lists, one favorites, one 80s, one shoot em up etc.
In the end a simple can with 2 sticks and 6 buttons each is all that's needed. That's why I can't stand these giant panels covered with a million things

This machine is not for everyone > If you want the best w/ everything this is the way to go >>>

Quoted from Moomert1:

Astro City cabs were the best. I miss the one I had.

I bought that one 25 years ago, it came with me when I moved to the Bay area. I just hope the tube doesn't die on me, I don't have a plan B and they will likely become unobtanium at some points.

Quoted from Ockeyhead:

You have made the right choice if want the best w/ everything. There is so much incredible variety w/ this machine that you will always find something different to make you/yours smile. The unique setup w/ high resolution & surround sound make all the games pop. Bringing the arcade into your home w/ full intensity.
The machine that I chose is called a Newlix. This is a Japanese Candy Machine that was prevalent in the 80's. My setup includes light guns, trackball, 4-way/8-way joysticks & pinball buttons on each side of the control panel. I was originally going to order a Megacade, but this machine was available immediately. I'm very happy w/ this machine since we are able to sit comfortably in a computer chair & play the night away.
I highly encourage you to register via Facebook ~ Extreme Arcade Owners Unite. This is excellent content for current & future owners of an EHA. There's a lot of great information on this site. Also, you might want to check out DThomas & Scantron5k via You Tube. Just Goggle those titles in the search engine, then you will have tons of videos related to EHA to enjoy.
If you are impatient like I am, then you might want to contact David Lewis to see if there are any other machines available immediately. There are numerous times when a customers eyes are bigger than his wallet, as they are unable to follow through. Dave's customer service is A1+++! Additionally, if you choose to register on the Home Owners Unite Page, there are always answers available almost immediately.
If you have any other ?'s, please do not hesitate to ask.
Here are some pictures of our EHA >>>[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

This is a Taito Viewlix knock off, it's not from the 80s, it's a late 2000 cabinet.
