The Xtension is shit, and it looks like it too, avoid it.

Building your own control panel is easy. Once you do it you'll wonder why you ever considered a crappy off the shelf controller that looks stupid sitting in a cab.

But this is a pinball forum and the resources here are limited. Get over to a place that's actually full of super helpful information. You can start here:

http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm

But go to the forums too. Trust me, you'll find anything you want to know there.

Haha CRTs are a huge pain in the ass. I mean, I love them, but they're still a pain. I should know, I have 7 in my garage right now, and I've had to repair them.

You should of course build whatever makes you happy. My personal advice is skip crowding your control panel with a bunch of stuff you'll hardly ever use just for a couple of games. It looks cluttered, they get in your way, it's just not really worth it IMHO. That is if you're really doing this because you want to play games, I think some people get more joy out of designing it all, thinking up controls for every scenario, and just diving into a project. Which is great too.

All I could find is an old pic of my cab. Scratch build, and I wanted it to look like a real cab, and not a collection of controls. Like I said though, whatever makes you happy is the way to go.
