Anyone know what the price was for classic machines when they were new? (tz, taf, mm, atf...) i know they werent really sold to the public but rather to operators etc. just curious to see where prices have gone since they were first made.

They were $2000 to 2600 depending on the discount you got for your volume.

You could have bought CC for $1500 at the end when distributors were dumping them as unsellable.

Thanks for the info. I guess is further proof that prices are getting kinda rediculous.

    $2600 in 1997 would be $3700 today.

So yes prices have gone up much faster than inflation.

But remember that they were making sometimes 8,000 - 20,000 games at a time rather than the few thousand today, so you save money in volume.

On the other hand our CAD and CNC are much faster today, so it just goes to show if you want lower prices, you need to have some real competition.
