The ball launch Switch originally didn't work.

-replaced the actual switch and new diode months ago
-played fine for almost a year, balls would launch by pushing the switch down or up
-last week it started acting funny, basically it would only launch sometimes. I would have to push and pull the handle up and down a few times, eventually the ball would launch, but is annoying because the skill shot is impossible
-today I did the switch test and it consistently activates when I pull the lever UP, but does nothing then I push it down.
-I replaced the diode, still same problem

I am not sure how this switching system actually work so I am confused on how to trouble shoot it.

Anyone else had this problem? can I just bridge the open side tab of the switch with the closed to it triggers both either direction?
