Can someone tell me what board powers the displays? Do they make a newer one?
Are you referring to the backbox alphanumerics or the ones in the playfield that display the maze information?
The board on the right side powers the displays. The High Voltage Section is to the left of the large blue capacitor

The displays work for a few minutes then start losing digits until totally blank. If you let it sit & cool off, they come back on but do the same thing again.
If you have a digital voltmeter, measure the voltage at TP2 on the solenoid driver board. The voltage should be between 170 and 180 volts DC. If it is over 200 volts, your high voltage section needs to be replaced. However, based on what you describe, it sounds like your voltage is in the 170 volt range when you first turn on the game, but the high voltage section is failing and the voltage, as measured at TP2, is dropping below 170 volts, which would cause the displays to go blank.
