I mentioned in another thread that I recently became a pinball owner. One of the two machines I have is a Mr. and Mrs. Pac-Man. I got it from a local guy who took great care in shopping it out, isolating the battery and making sure everything works 100%.
The playfield is alright... one might say, "it has a very nice patina."
A lot of the plastics were damaged so I bought a set on eBay and replaced about 11 pieces.
But the real fun was when I replaced the drop targets. The old drop targets had the typical "headband" stripe and looked a lot like this:
No one reproduces these as of today in a hot-stamp format. Pinball Resource has ones for sale on eBay and on their website but they're based on the Baby Pac-Man drop targets and not the correct Mr. and Mrs. ones. So I decided to go custom.
Using the old ones as a guide I redrew the ghost image in Paint Shop Pro and created a vector graphic of it:
I decided I didn't want all red ghost and so I made ghost in the four main colors you see in Ms. Pac-Man.
I then had them printed on a sticker over at VistaPrint. When they arrived, I laminated them with 3 mil laminate. I then purchase blank drop targets from Pinball Resource and applied the new stickers to the drop targets.
The final result:

Oh and I made mine a little smaller than the original so you could see the tail of the ghosts. It bothered me that the graphic was partially covered by the playfield.
