We all know that many of the SS generation Pins have licensed movie themes. Most of the EM generation Pins had original themes. I would like to know what EM Pins have a movie/TV theme if any? The only one I can think of is the 1974 Bally Wizard. Any others?

Thanks!

Cinema, Flicker and Mystery Score were movie based EM pins.

Sinbad. Fair Lady and Mayfair are apparently themed after or influenced from My Fair Lady. Gun Smoke (not movie but television).

Whoops, I don't think Gun Smoke is right. There is a Gottlieb game based on a Western Television series. Now I can't think of it.

Ah Bonanza! That's it.

Wagon Train.

There's also Hi Dolly (Hello Dolly).

"Licensing" was apparently much looser back then...

Thanks for the replies!

That Close Encounters looks great! It would fit in nicely with the other Sci-Fi themed pins I have. Too bad they made less than 500 in the EM version. They did make a SS version with the same playfield but a different back glass. And they did make almost 10,000 of those. I'll need to keep an eye out for those.

Bonanza looks interesting too. I remember watching that way back when!

Keep them coming if you can think of any more!

1951, and not a "traditional" pin... a take off on "what's my line"...

Wow, I'd never seen that one before. No flippers but it's really unique and cool looking.

There were quite a few woodrails that skirted the licensing line. Frontiersman was definitely a Davy Crockett theme. Daisy May was a Li' Abner theme. Dragonette was definitely related to Dragnet. The superb Roy Parker backglasses from this era gave many clues as to what shows and/or movies Gottlieb was unofficially representing.

Yes TV shows are OK too. Went ahead and changed the thread title to add that.

Thanks for the great suggestions!

Not wild about the backglass.

I remember seeing a 1954 "lovely lucy" at the Baltimore pinball museum before it closed. It was a blatant rip off of "I Love Lucy" TV show which was a huge hit at that time. Apparently they weren't as litigious back then.

Maybe Dracula... Know it was a book, but thinking there were plenty of movies. It is a very cool pin!
