Does anyone have steps of moving a colordmd from one wpc95 game to another.

I tried moving the display from a MM to MB and it did not work in the MB. Put it back in the MM and it worked fine.

You will have to update the firmware (color rom file) when you move the display.

update it before I move the display?

When I powered on the display in MB it did not even come on, the display was blank. I thought the colors would just be off and then I would update the color rom file.

You probably hooked it up wrong (hopefully). It should come up monochrome and then you update the firmware..

Make sure that you have the 12v cable running from the power driver board to the DMD hooked up (J-138).

    Sometimes overlooked.

Move it to the new game, reflash the firmware. If you get the INVALID KEY message, you'll need to unlock it.

How long have you had the ColorDMD?

If purchased before May 2013, read this: http://www.colordmd.com/Support_Keys.html

While this may not be your issue, it is worth mentioning.

    Thanks for replies everyone.

Looks like the 12v unregulated fuse is blown on the power supply board. I do not have a spare so will pick one up tomorrow and report back.

    thanks again

Sorry for the bump. If I buy a colordmd for my AFM will I also be able to use it in my TAF? Is it as simple as downloading new firmware and if so is it free?

    Thanks

Yes, the same display can be used in all supported WPC games by downloading and installing the appropriate color ROM file from our SUPPORT page.
