The display has been flaky for a while flickering in and out and sometimes going completely out. Up until now when it went out completely, a good nudge or shake of the machine would get it back on. Now it won’t come on at all. I’ve tried reseating connectors and ribbon cables but haven’t had any luck. Are there any other areas to check that will tell me if the display is just bad? I’ve read that an outgassed display may have a white powdery residue under the glass but I don’t see that here. I’m pretty sure it’s the original so it very well could be dead but I’d still like to explore all options before buying a new one. Thanks!

You need to test the high voltages.

Found the problem. The 100v fuse holders were barely gripping the fuses. I pushed them in better and the display works again. The metal seems so flimsy that if you gave it a wiggle it would snap off. This is a Rottendog replacement board and all the fuse holders on it seem weak. Probably need to replace them because I’m sure they’ll work they’re way out again with any movement.
