Just finished a game of JB, and...just LOVE the Bond theme. So cool. So many terrific childhood memories, when going to a movie theater was such an exciting treat. Bond was the one movie franchise loved by both dad & me. Okay, I don't think of "pinball" when I hear the JB theme...but it does get me smiling & pumped probably more than any other song in pinball...including all the band-themed pins.

The Star Wars theme is a close second, for similar childhood memories when I perceived Star Wars as the best move ever made by a HUGE margin (although dad was not a fan).

What other songs in pinball bring about more memories/emotion (please no "you shook me all night long" posts!)

I love hearing the opening overture when you press start on Indiana Jones. If I haven't played the game in a while I listen all the way through before pulling the trigger and launching the first ball.

I also like the theme from Peter Gunn used in WHOdunnit?

    #3 1 year ago

Are you familiar with the band ‘The Who’? They made a pretty relevant song.

    #4 1 year ago

Twilight zone is one that jumps out for me. Or main theme from Medieval Madness...

...thats probably the most iconic song ABOUT pinball.

Indiana Jones is up there for me too...but I don't own one and don't hear the theme too much. Still, for me, behind Bond and SW.

    Space Hunt or Rollergames, obviously.

Okay this will be corny, slightly embarassing, confession...

I can't help but change the way I walk away from Bond when that theme is going. I go into my smooth, gentlemanly, walk(strut) when that theme plays...tell me I'm not the only one. Not quite to the point that I physically turn, kneel, and raise/aim a fake gun (but it does go through my head!)

    wow, just wow.
...maybe vote for most iconic buttocks in pinball, though

Most relevant song? Probably "White and Nerdy" in Weird Al's museum of natural hilarity. It's like the song of my people.

Sadly, every Metallica I’ve played had volume turned all the way down.

Space Hunt is arguably the best song ever written, pinball related or not.

Secret Service, by Data East has four notable songs in it. All of them in "Digital Stereo" as it's amusingly announced when the game is turned on.

The theme from "Mission Impossible" is the main song and that's about as iconic as it can get.
Then the theme from the TV show, "Get Smart", which makes me laugh.
Then the song, "Secret Agent Man".

And finally, at the end of each game, "Nobody Does It Better" is played as the lyrics are scrolling in the score displays, while the flashing topper keeps the beat.

    Hey, Bandit78. You dropped something.

That’s cool! Never played the game and never heard the soundtrack

Surprised JP hasn’t been mentioned yet.

BK2K and RG are top notch. I’ll also throw out Avatar’s music as well as BKSoR’s as two that pull me into the theme when I hit start.

music to my ears is when you push the start button on a Gottlieb EM...................

Spy Hunter had Peter Gunn in both the pinball and video games

The Blues Brothers did my favorite version of the song.

    #28 1 year ago

Honorable mention for the main guitar riff in Judge Dredd.

    Quoted from jackd104:

    Addams Family, of course.

    Iconic theme from Vic Mizzy.
He also did the music for the movie The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.

The EM version of Evel Knievel played the military tune, First Call, using the chime bars. Not the entire song, just the front part of it. So did Bally, Eight Ball.
I looked it up before posting and, First Call only uses 4 notes for the entire song.

... I think you mean the "Solid State" version. And all the SS Bally pins with chimes played that.

TRON: daft punk. Always pulls me in.
There and Back Again: nothing like it when that music queues in.

And if I recall, Blackjack was the only one that additionally played something else (three chimes played in succession twice when you landed the ball in the 500/advance bonus hole).

There's a variation of this song featured prominently in Who Dunnit as well.

I second “There and Back Again”. It’s always special when the magnet grabs the ball and that mode starts.

Lucky hand has a 1110 shot which plays all 3 chimes in order

    #40 1 year ago

It’s probably because it was the first pin I could consistently rack up credits on, but the Theme to High Speed is probably my favorite music for any pin.

I doubt there’s another song that’s been mentioned here that more people from 9 years old to 90 know than that one.

The Bride of Pinbot music at the end of a good game is very catchy to me - it continues on for a short while and slowly fades out.
