2 days ago I picked up a 1974 Bally Ro Go for $50 .. basically the game is so dirty , it looks like it had been sitting in a coal mine or inside a fireplace ..It makes dirt look clean..”no shit” ..I’ve seen and had some pins that were dirty but this is bad .. I game has a shitty backglass and the field is pretty worn, but it’s a pinball machine. All the plastic on Play field are almost perfect .. so I figured it was worth $50 .. So my question is how should I go about cleaning the wires and score reels in the back box . It’s like I want to hose the shit off with a water hose and soap it’s bad ..

Here’s an active thread on this exact topic:

Let us know how it goes. Ro Go is the perfect game to try anything on.

Congrats I played one of those my buddy had in Ky. a few years ago and it was pretty fun as I remember it. He sold that pin to someone in Independence Ky. so it may be in one of the collections on here still.

Easy for $50. I've got a Spanish Eyes that is pretty dirty as well. Your's isn't so bad. If you do something with it, post up your method and results. I'm following the link posted above. Thought about going the brake cleaner route, but someone said it might bleach the color on the wires, so now I'm debating about going the Simple Green/toothbrush/hose route.

I am a pinball guy but also a old car guy.

I look at them similar to an old car.

If there is any chance of bringing back to life, do it!!

They aren’t making Them any more.

However at the end of the day if it HAS to be parted out to save another it is a hard decision.

The score reels look like something burned up inside there. Maybe a shorted coil? Those wires look toasty. We’re there nails in the fuse holders?

We lucked out and got a Ro Go in really nice cosmetic condition, but dead with some hackery to the wiring, so it was cheap. Not everybody likes it, but we have fun with it.

Good luck.
