Facebook MP ad for a Taxi. Little in the way of information other than it needs to playfield rubber and the playfield is in decent shape with a little wear. Apparently seller never bothered to see if game powers up - looks like it’s been sitting on a pallet the whole time. No idea if all the boards are there or if there’s any battery acid damage. Originally wanted $2,600, now down to $2,100. Reached out to seller to see if it powers up, but crickets so far, granted it was two days before Christmas (it was listed five days before Christmas), so will give benefit of doubt. but not expecting a response back. Seller is going to need to come down a bit if I’m going to gamble on this thing.

    Quoted from illudiumQ36:

"I haven't plugged it in since I had it" = it's DOA. If it worked, he would have shown it ON.

Any thoughts on what a reasonable price might be for this project Taxi? I would rather try to get it working, especially for being a “Marilyn” version, but I have a feeling this is going to end up at the local dump because the seller is not going to get his premium price for it.

    Quoted from illudiumQ36:

We'd have to see more pics of it, particular what's behind the backglass, to ballpark it. That said, pinball prices are stupid-high now, to the point where I'm about priced out of the hobby. There are no deals, broken pins or otherwise. California auction made sure of that.

There weren't any pics of the boards behind the backglass and the seller doesn't seem to be responding to comments people are posting such as looking for more info or trade interest. At this point, I'm basically offering $1,500, take it or leave it. What a weird listing...like the seller is trying to cash in on the pinball craze with a broken machine.

I came into this at the wrong time. Literally just trying to get a few select vintage Williams pins for the basement and be done. Sure I can go to arcades, but I'm in a rural area and most local bar and grill type places have only a Big Buck Hunter if you're lucky.

    This is really ambitious.
    It’s a piano.
    It’s a pinball.

An example of someone’s pinball obsession crossing the line into being unhealthy.

How to tell me you’re a pin flipper without telling me you’re a pin flipper.

    $7,500 Slugfest on eBay.

ebay.com link: williams slugfest pinball best pitch and bat of all time

Seller apparently knows there are about 25 non-faded Slugfest cabinets out there.

    Quoted from RCA1:

I like the additional rubber all the way across the playfield. Greatly increases ball times. [quoted image]

    It's the OG ball save!
