Quoted from GTO:Well, this one is the rarer Mata "Hair", so there's that.
LMAO I didn't even notice that! Maybe it contains real hair from the late damsel.

$8k Eight Ball Deluxe with playfield wear, anyone?
It's the rare Banning edition.
Quoted from Ryguy80:Any thoughts on what a reasonable price might be for this project Taxi? I would rather try to get it working, especially for being a “Marilyn” version, but I have a feeling this is going to end up at the local dump because the seller is not going to get his premium price for it.
We'd have to see more pics of it, particular what's behind the backglass, to ballpark it. That said, pinball prices are stupid-high now, to the point where I'm about priced out of the hobby. There are no deals, broken pins or otherwise. California auction made sure of that.
Quoted from embryonjohn:We live in a quiet town and this Craigslist hometown post has generated quite the pulsating reverberation. My goofy friend who’s always up for a laugh, plans on answering the advertisement today just to see who’s selling it.

A little warning would have been nice first. I opened the link at work : (
Quoted from Tophervette:If that is the HEP restored Kiss, it may have cost that much to restore it.
Unrestored.
Quoted from Williampinball:I had a Kiss and I really didn't like it at all sold it with in a week after getting it lol not a fun pin
I said the same thing about Evel Knievel before I sold it. It had the best artwork for that era, imo. But, I just didn't like the play of it. KISS I like better, mostly because of nostalgia. I played the **** out of one in high school, back in the early 80's. I like the artwork, as well. But it's not $5k+ imo. Guess that'll be my kids' inheritance.
Quoted from freeplay3:It does say the buyers premium is included in that price. Not a total kick in the balls. Just a glancing blow.
It appears to me, to be in average, unrestored condition. Seems kinda high, even when you subtract the commission. Par for the course these days, I guess.
Quoted from gdonovan:Was there anything special about it?
Not that I can tell.
The auction company was pretty far off in its estimate of the value - $5-10k "conservatively" (their quote).
Quoted from Daditude:Not a pinball, but definitely funny:

They don't have mirrors in that part of England?
Quoted from bob_e:Top Card backglass Ebarf $1289
just the glass no machine included

I'm going to see if he'll accept 1289 in Ugandan Shillings...

Look at that immamaculate playfield for this price range:[quoted image]
Mine must be worth $16k then. Good to know !
Quoted from illudiumQ36:Beauty, eh? I will sell my KISS machine for only $12,000, if someone wants one nicer than this one. I like the warping sides, which gives it a nice touch. Since Paul and Gene supposedly signed the backglass, I'm wondering if Seller is liable for the Gene Tax? Anything resembling or connected to Gene has a price. [quoted image][quoted image]
Quoted from Nikrox2:I didn't know where to post this one (no photos) - but picked up a game recently that had been in a basement for over 12 years - since the new owner bought the place. The game never worked he said. Even thought the previous home owner swore it did. I looked it over and we settled on a price.
I then started to take the game apart, removing the head, then the rear legs, to then tilt up on it's end - exposing the bottom of the game - that's when it he asked - "What's that switch?" hhmm
Once I got it home, besides turning on the power switch, I found two penny's stuck in the coin chute - keeping the game from starting correctly - after that it just needed a good old fashioned cleaning.
Love those!
Had a similar thing happen with a 1958 Seeburg jukebox purchase. I saw it on Cragslist for months. It was overpriced and didn't work. I finally called him and made a lowball offer, thinking he'd hang up. He accepted. Being in the middle of a divorce (me), I put the jukebox in storage and didn't mess with it until 2 years later. Turns out, the only thing wrong with it, was a coin jam in the chute. It's worked great ever since!
