Laughs aside, here's a deadly story involving Craigslist:

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/20/saudi-student-killed/17635787/

Ad sadly, this is only a sample of murders connected with Craigslist.

    Quoted from kirkgun:

The stuck ball is in the description the seller made:
"Very Rare Rawhide Pinball Machine , lights up but ball is stuck on machine,"
Oddly enough (since it is very rare) there happens to be another for sale on our local CL at the same time (with nicer playfield, for quite a bit less). What an incredible coincidence! Maybe combine both of those rarities and get one working game?
    charlotte.craigslist.org link

Amazing! He has a Stern pinball machine from the "1960's"! Apparently someone found out how to time travel back a decade with a pinball machine. Now THAT'S an innovation!

    Quoted from boagman:

I have an issue with that listing, anyway: never seen a NOS populated playfield from WMS of that era with multiple colors (white *and* black) of rubber used. Something's off, I think. Open to being corrected if I'm wrong, though, if any of the designers want to pop in and smack me on the head.

Are you referring to the black post rubbers? Those and they yellow ones were common even then.
And the bands on the playfield look like they're as old as the playfield is supposed to be. (and probably turning to dust!).

Compare to an original flyer picture:

    #223 9 years ago
    Quoted from asay:

Maybe, but he comes off like a complete asshole with his refusal to take pictures.

I can kind of understand why he isn't posting pictures, but if they're folded up, how is someone going to get to check them out? And after making a drive to Victorville on top of that. I wouldn't make an eighty mile trip there and not be able to inspect / try out a game.

    #225 9 years ago
    Quoted from asay:

No way I'd ever follow up on any ad without pictures. Plus There's some creepy freaking people on CL.

Same here, and even then I'm skeptical. Some people on Craigs-list are not only creepy, some are (literally) serial killers!

There is playfield wear, the cabinet has been repainted, and the back cabinet has been repaired from some sort of impact. However, in its favor, the previous owner installed an LED lighting kit, and the hard-to-find central plastic ramp is intact. This isn't Craigslist but Ebay. I'm sure many of you have seen this listing because its been posted on Ebay for years, lol. I guess because it has the drop targets (minus the 10 point switches that are suppossed to be behind them) this guy thinks its worth a million dollars. The playfield has wear, the cabinet has what looks to be white paint all over it, i am going to assume that the boards have not been upgraded and bullet proofed otherwise he surely would have mentioned it, the backbox is seperated and split at the seams, the backglass is far from perfect and its generally a mess but best of all is the "out of order" sign on it. But the one they are selling might not be the one pictured? hahaha So i can also assume if its not the one seen in the pictures it must be worse...

I still remember his $15k ToM, which I am positive he sold for around $12k to somebody, and it was not HUO as stated. Some people say I am a little caustic, but some things he sells are not realistic, no matter his experience in the industry.

Agree with this assessment. If it was worth the effort they would have restored it themselves. Kiss is one of the few games that would be worth at least trying to polish up no matter how big a turd it is because there will most likely be someone willing to buy it but this example no way José-part this puppy out and get what you can for it. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $200-300 at the most ( the boards, displays, wiring, & playfield parts should be worth that much) and that's being generous.

Take another look at the backbox. Battery corrosion on the MPU, rust on the transformer assembly, something burned on the lamp driver and corrosion on all the other boards. Maybe ( and it's a stretch) some of the parts under the play field are salvageable, but even they show some rust and missing parts.

No, that's really the theme for the machine. Premier payed up for the license back when it was manufactured, and the trademark owners can't really demand more money from the guy who resells the thing he bought.

I know that. i worked on one back in the day, but the pin came out LONG before the Cubs won the World Series, and the seller is trying to sell it as a "Limited Edition" using the 2016 Worlds Series logo. That's the parts that make the ad sketchy.

When plugged in some lights on top work, and some on the bottom. It appears that it will need a new circuit board as there is no sound. There is some power when tested with multimeter. Has 1 silver ball. All bumpers and flippers work. It measures approximately 48”- long, 60”-tall, and 25”- wide at the widest point. Please feel free to ask any questions, and we will happily answer them the best that we can."
