Williams Bride of Pinbot Pinball Machine, 1991

Working pinball machine. Acquired a month ago, and I've played it maybe 5 times to verify it works. Works fines, with the following exception... the 2nd (upper) display is garbled and needs anything from a check that the wiring connections are seated properly to a full replacement ($200). I honestly haven't researched/ tested anything further, nor done any work on this. Cosmetically, please note the pictures. The playfield shows some bare wood, but no affect on ball play. This is an unshopped, but working Bride of Pinbot.

It's harder to find crazy stuff these days with prices but this guy is selling a premium in the bay area but calling it a limited edition. [quoted image]

Looks like he listened to you. He change the listing to “Jurassic Park Premium Edition Pinball - $14,995”
    It’s still way overpriced!

I’ve write a nice email to the guy saying these are still available from distributors if you look hard enough and includes a list of distributors that showed a JJ premium in stock on their website (however, I didn’t call the distributors to confirm). The guy responded. He’s kind of a dick.

For fun, I offered the guy $1,000. Of course, he wrote back insulting me. It’s a collector piece, etc. I sent him some pinside data which seemed to piss him off more. At that, I deleted his emails and moved on with life. He’s not worth my time….

Pinside says is worth $1480-1720. I’m surprised it’s that high.
    https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/millionaire

    #8676 4 months ago
    Quoted from PinJim:

His displays show “adjust failure”, so I’m assuming the batteries puked on the CPU. Given that he doesn’t know a damn thing about pinball and claims to have owned it for 30 years, I’m sure it needs a full rebuild, likely some plastics, all boards rebuilt, etc. Given what they sell for rebuilt, $1,000 seems right or maybe high.
I knew he wasn’t going to bite on it and arguing is an awful negotiating tactic. I had zero hope of getting it, just seeing where his head is at. Typical crap I’ve dealt with before, the game is rare, highly collectible, it’s in great shape, blah blah blah.
I remember going to see a funhouse about 20 years ago and the guy said it was minty - his price reflected that. It was beat, including a cracked flipper. I offered him half of what he was asking which pissed him off. He escorted me out of the house. I actually thought he may start a fight….
Still reading? Probably not, but I’m venting, lol.
About the same time frame I want to see a Playmatic machine. I specifically asked the guy if the case had damage since they are so susceptible to that. Of course he says no. Get there and the bottom had large areas that had been poorly patched with bondo and painted. Called him out and he got pissed. To be fair, I was pissed too that he lied and wasted my time.
I thing I’ve learned over the years is there are a lot of liars in this world. Especially when you are buying stuff online.

I wrote this to the guy…

    “Good morning,
I noticed your pinball ad. Given its current condition (needing rubbers) you might think of lowering the asking price to generate a quicker sale. Pinside says is worth $1480-1720.
    https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/millionaire”

    Here’s his response…

    Quoted from Nikrox2:

I didn't know where to post this one (no photos) - but picked up a game recently that had been in a basement for over 12 years - since the new owner bought the place. The game never worked he said. Even thought the previous home owner swore it did. I looked it over and we settled on a price.
I then started to take the game apart, removing the head, then the rear legs, to then tilt up on it's end - exposing the bottom of the game - that's when it he asked - "What's that switch?" hhmm
Once I got it home, besides turning on the power switch, I found two penny's stuck in the coin chute - keeping the game from starting correctly - after that it just needed a good old fashioned cleaning.
    Love those!

    Great find! Curious, what game?
