    Quoted from Mikala:

SolarGarlic, stick to what you know. You have 90’s and current machines. That Gulfstream is worth every penny he’s asking if not more for all of the work he put into it. For a Gulfstream, that playfield is mint.
    chicago.craigslist.org link

He is talking about the $8500 TBL machine... thought that was pretty freakin' obvious...

Edit: had to check estimated price, it is a $15k pin ($13870 - $16130, median $15,000)... some have sold for as little as $12,000. $8500 is too good to be true.

Hey, give me $1150 for one of the most highly sought after pinball machines with a dirty ass playfield with ball trails. It has been TOTALLY reconditioned and adjusted by one of the best that $10/hr can buy. Comes with new rubbers, Mangum size. Body and backglass have both been touched up, so you know this is a steal at $1150. RARE!

They might actually have 7g in that game without labor for decals and playfield swap. Not saying it is worth 12 by any stretch but if this were a HEP, well you pay for the labor.

    -1
    #8474 1 year ago
    Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Hard to get the labor time back.

I don't know the typical rates but I would pay $20/hr to swap and probably $35/hr for a decal job (us labor stats put vinyl car wrap guys at $22 to $32 per hour).

I'd expect a swap to run $600 to $800 and the decals to run $350 to $600 at those max rates.

So he may have about $8400 tied up in that game (assuming no other nos parts purchased)... but can easily see how he may even have $12,000 into it with labor along with new(ish) parts in the mix.

    #8486 1 year ago
    Quoted from JethroP:

Wow....I wouldn't do a playfield swap for less than $2000.

    Quoted from porkcarrot:

I’m not in the business of doing restoration, but there is no chance I’d do these for those rates. $20/hr for a playfield swap? Absolutely no chance.

    Quoted from gdonovan:

I was approached by a few people about doing swaps after I did Flash Gordon.
To my satisfaction, it would well over $1000 just in labor. Easily I could spend over a week doing a swap, cleaning & polishing everything, wiring repairs, rebuilding mechs and tweaking and playtesting.

    Quoted from bigguybbr:

$20 an hour is insanity for a playfield swap. Way more complicated than decal work, so not sure why you think you would pay 75% more for that. I don’t know anyone around here would approach a swap for anything less than $50-$75 an hour. All local pin techs charge $75 an hour here. It’s skilled labor. Also what is the point of doing a swap if you aren’t going to rebuild all the mechs in the process and swap bulb sockets or switch to yoppsicles? I’ve done it before. Very labor intensive.

    Quoted from zr11990:

I’ll do a straight up PF Swap for 1000. I’ll everything to the new PF and clean what I can as I go. I’ll replace whatever parts you provide for me to replace. Any parts I have to have are extra.

I was only valuing this particular guy or gal's time to remove and replace and what he could get back. Of course the depth could go much greater, which is beyond just swapping things out and into the realm of overhaul and restoration.

My point was not to give an accurate reflection of what someone would charge or be willing to pay for these services; but, that this guy with a Corvette, new playfield, and proper decal job could have (upwards of) what he was asking into the machine.

Not a Craigslist ad, but it’s on listed on here

I just got a laugh that it is “immaculate” with a a nail sticking out the back of the head with a key on it, and a slightly wonky paint job.
    [quoted image]

    That's a key hook mod.

I think I will start to sell them in my store for $15 shipped anywhere in the continental USA ($30 Hawaii, Alaska, and international), hammer not included.
