Quoted from practicalsteve:
check out this awesome pinball table, only 325$!
I like the idea. Not so much on the price.
Quoted from ForceFlow:
Not craigslist, but still completely rediculous nonetheless:
ebay.com link » Vintage Pinball Machine Spare Part Chromed Steel Ball
A rusty, used ball for $20 on ebay. With $18 shipping.
Ummm. It's coming all the way from Australia. Of course the shipping is high. They make the best rusty pinballs down under. You want the best - you pay the price, mate.
Quoted from mof:
This guy can't decide whether he has to sell or not -- it's an awesome read!
1. First offer of $3650 will be accepted.
2. I am not considering offers less than $3200.
3. If you can meet me in the Cleveland, Ohio area I will accept $3100 non-negotiable lowest price.
4. Please send offers -- we can negotiate.
5. I am not in a position where I need to sell this quickly.
#1 will never happen because of #2 an #3. LOL
#3 nullifies #2. (sounds like he's attempting to give a non-shipping price, but it's just not clear)
#4 nullifies #2 and 3, (if by offers he means "below his 3100 rock bottom price")
He could have just gone with, "Asking $3650."
Am I missing something? How can a guy offer 3650, when he tipped his hand that $3100 is just dandy, oh and he'll negotiate...
This guy should end up on Pawn Stars taking $1150 or so.
There's no way that thing can be serious...
A proper tongue in cheek playfield ad:

Quoted from Toucanf16:
Too many pinball machines? Need at hot tub instead?
There's really only one possible trade.
Quoted from cosmokramer:
lol...this guy is confusing a couple of movies....selling a DE Star Wars with a robotic bobo the owl????

What if the translite is autographed by the cast of "Clash of the Titans?" What then?
Quoted from WApb:
For some reason the ad does not really match up with the picture. If he wanted to fix it up im sure he could have stored it better.. This is just a wreck.
Here's that exact picture in someone's blog of sorts from 2009.
Quoted from labnip:
Imperial II-class Star Destroyer (Mad River)
Selling a slightly used Imperial II-class Star Destroyer.
Previously (slightly) owned by a navigator of a spice freighter, this vessel has been sitting on my moisture farm and needs to be removed before next year's harvest. I just haven't had time to give this classic the attention it deserves and my loss is some-one else's gain!
1,600 meters in length this bad boy has a maximum atmospheric speed of 975 km/h and an acceleration of >2,300 g. It's got a Class 2 hyper-drive system still in working order with a backup Class 8. SFS I-a2b solar ionization reactor is in good to excellent shape. KDY Destroyer-I ion engine turns over on the first try but may need a new serpentine belt.
As you can see by the picture provided, the deflector shield generator domes are intact. That is a state of the art ISD-72x.
Fully equipped with LeGrange targeting computers, heavy ion cannons, Phylon Q7 tractor beam projectors, leather bucket seats, and a 15 disc cd changer.
36,000 tons of cargo capacity, this beauty was ran with a crew of 37,085 but you can pull it off with a minimum of 5,000 leaving you plenty of room to pack in a few extra AT-AT walkers, TIE starfighters, prefabricated garrison bases, Lambda-class shuttles, yards of soil, spool after spool of pipe, and jet skis.
This superstructure is perfect for long road trips with the family, discovering new galaxies, picking up girls for dates, and general destruction of your enemies. Have you ever seen what a Star Destroyer can do to the surface of an unshielded planet? Stones run like water and sand turns to glass. With just a little TLC, this baby can be good as new.
Brand new this beauty of the skies runs at about 145,670,000 credits, but do to some carbon scoring I can be flexible on the price. Realistically, I just need it removed from my property, so all offers or trades will be considered. Make me an offer, no mind tricks.
First come, first serve basis. You are responsible for towing.
do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
Not really a laugh, since I'm tired of seeing it.
An overpriced EM with a single bad photo? Well, I never.
But like (I assume) a lot of you, I get emails from CL when machines are posted. You know how even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day? It feels like that's how often this thing gets listed.
I'm exaggerating, but this is from my gmail.
Quoted from Colsond3:
That has got to be a few of the weirdest posts on CL I have ever seen. What the hell are those two thinking? And do they even have a pinball machine they're selling? LOL. I wish I had that much free time on my hands that I could circuitously make fake ads about nothing.
Kinda feel like posting to the NH craigslist and adding fuel to the fire.
Quoted from Bohdi:
I saw it too and just laughed. I honestly believe there are more Marilyns than Lolas out there, at least from what I see. Also love the "original" topper. This should sell FAST
Hey. At least the 2 US based Marilyns are in Minnesota.
And it's supposedly HUO, so don't worry about the wrong topper. I'm sure the original is around there somewhere.
CL lists this in their rules.
"spam; miscategorized, overposted, cross-posted, or nonlocal content"
No, they're not supposed to post the same ad day after day after day. And in cases where they're overpriced by multiple times what one could reasonably expect - fuck em. Flag away all day every day.
Boring standard overpriced Hurricane:
"This Pin is shopped and completely gone through by our expert staff."
Experts that missed the credit dot.
Oh, and if you visit the sales page on their website - they have a few pictures of tables. Granted - they don't actually say that they have these particular tables for sale, but one of these things is not like the other.
Quoted from aahgo:
More rubber dinosaur!!!
John, the kind of control you're attempting simply is... it's not possible. If there is one thing the history of toppers has taught us it's that they will not be contained. Toppers break free, they expand to new territories and crash through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, uh... well, there it is.
Quoted from PinballNewb:
PINBALL ARCADE- WILLING TO TRADE EXOTIC PET WITH DISABILITY FOR PINBALL - $1 (Eastside buffalo) hide this posting
looking to trade my exotic pet with minor disabilitys for pinball and or arcade game.
about my pet, his name is Stanley and he's a kangaroo,(no he doesn't have a pouch) we named him Stanley after the Stanley steamer commercial, he has intestinal issues and needs hourly attention from caregiver, it's just time to give the steamer a new home. will provide additional details for new owner and interested individuals, not a good family pet!
a little about Stanley, he's a brown kangaroo and you'll probably want to pet and hug him up but I wouldn't due to unpredictable aggressive behavior, he kicks hard and it can hurt real bad. just look and don't touch. Willing to trade for arcade games or just about anything.
we have about 4 months of adult sized diapers that will go with Stanley. he's a great kangaroo and is looking for a great new home.
Wonder if they'd be interested in this.
Quoted from wayout440:
They must have some way to stop him somehow. The abuse of keywords could be considered as clogging up the system, responses from customers flagging etc. I would think are somehow valid reasons to shut him down. Annoying for certain.
Post ads in the free section with their phone number in it. It's childish, passive aggressive as Hell, and they may not even make the connection. On the other hand, screw em'.
Quoted from GLSP3022:
Do they honestly think people are that stupid??
Wait. Don't answer that
I think this falls under the "it only takes one idiot" rule.
Maybe they land the perfect storm of stupid.
A non pinhead that wouldn't know that LEs aren't out yet.
One that wouldn't immediately see that that image had been photoshopped.
One that REALLY REALLY likes ghostbusters.
They have a load of disposable income, and are willing to throw it around without looking to see what something should cost.
And of course, they'd have to then be willing to wait for the machine, not questioning why they can't have the one that was shown in the ad.
Now wishing I had responded to the ad saying I'd take it, but only if I could get it immediately.
Quoted from Bbismuth:
Probably a new Stern what with the ghosting and all.
Quoted from Beatnik-Filmstar:
Attention Minneapolis CL watchers - It's baaaaack.
Down another $100 since our last visit, and now at just under a quarter of the original asking price.
Going to assume that it still needs those new "bumper pads" though.
Huh. Looks like it might have hit the sweet spot.
Quoted from bdPinball:
I keep seeing these references to somehow, this crappy Brunswick "Alive" is in someway related to Elvis Presley?! He'd FREAK if he knew someone mistook this for a likeness of him!!
And $4,000?? Even if you inflated the 1970s dollars that this sold for originally, at what? Maybe $750 retail? at the usual 4x 70s inflation, it's only $3k... But Brunswick games didn't exactly appreciate in value. Heh.
Quoted from Pinballlew:
Had to post these cuz they are great...just to preserve them.
I went to look at that machine.
Owner came to the door and seemed nice enough, but now I'm at the bottom of a hole and it's cold and I'm scared.
I still have my phone somehow. Took this picture of the owner.
I can hear him now somewhere above me. Talking about tilting.
"Would you tilt me? I'd tilt me."
I don't know what's happening.
Sorry for any typos. My hands are slick as shit with all the lotion I have on them.
Quoted from dfrazer:
".........but needs a few new fuses to get her back to life."
Not that constantly blowing fuses are in any way 'OK', but how many machines on CL need "just a fuse or two"? If that was all that was required, why not just replace the fuses and advertise the machine as working? Oh yeah, the sellers either have no idea what they are talking about, or they're trying to scam potential buyers who have no idea what they are buying.....
The laugh here.......we all get to call BS on this type of stuff
It's not always a fuse. Sometimes a wire just jiggles loose.
The Hell with fixing it before selling though.
Edit - wait. They actually spelled "juggled." That's somehow way better.
Quoted from jibmums:
But he's "sure it's an easy fix." Wonder how many other easy fixes he's sure about?
"My wife isn't speaking to me, but I'm sure I can sweet-talk her out of it."
"My boss left several angry messages on my answering machine, but I'm sure it's nothing serious."
"I'm coughing up blood, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with my four-pack-a-day habit."
Well, political leanings aside, the seller is going to learn something about the free market.
Even the most basic coat of black paint would make it look 200% better. Or sobering up before carving that foam around the steering wheel.
Quoted from newovad:
OP: Has intermittent power. ..perhaps needs new power supply. .. model # 55-860224-2. ..MORE PHOTOS COMING
3 Photos of the manual for a 1979 Elvis Alive Brunswick Pinball Machine. None of the machine. How much would you pay?
Seller wants $2995.
They should just drive it up the road to Fridley. I'm sure Al at the pinball warehouse would give him $2000 or so.
I only received this since they're willing to trade for pinball machines, but the first picture that loads gives me the worst Uncle Touchy's Naked Puzzle Basement vibe ever.
Might as well bring your own lotion if you're going. Easier to avoid the hose that way.
Quoted from egyptrus:
Here's a $38,000 Wizard...madison.craigslist.org link
Here's the text:
Very rare limited edition Tommy The Who Pinball Wizard featuring Ann Margaret. Meticulously maintained by an electrician and pinball enthusiast. Protected from direct sunlight. Beautiful back glass and playing field.
I didn't realize this was a "limited edition". If you look at the one and only picture you'll notice the reflection in the backglass of what appears to be the outside of his house (looks like trees in the reflection). Apparently this game is only exposed to indirect sunlight.
Ann Margret better be in there and she better be looking like "Bye Bye Birdie" era Ann.
