I know...what an absolute waste. And it looks like it was in pretty good condition too. You can find legs...maybe they still have the head stashed somewhere as an end table.

Some people take the backs off swivel chairs and use them as stools. I'm guessing that is what is going on in that photo.

Whatever it is, looks like its been there a while... has a filthy rubber on it. That one deserves a spot in the worst hacks thead.

I can't tell - is it a rubber bumper, or an actual magnet mounted above the PF??? Maybe I'll respond to the CL ad just to ask...

It looks like a rare earth magnet glued to a metal rod. I'm guessing the field is strong enough to divert the ball towards the flippers ever time.

    #4664 2 years ago

Then they should put rubber bands around the outlanes too - they'd never lose a ball!!!

I wonder if the scoop was throwing the ball straight down the middle and this was somebody's idea on how to circumvent the problem rather than fix it properly...

I wonder if the seller actually thinks he's a decent player after installing and having the benefit of that "mod".

    #4667 2 years ago

Not from Craigslist, but Pinside archives from 2015 so it may have already been posted here. I randomly found it out of boredom.

Frustrating to search craigslist for pinball in Chicago area and first pinball machine is the 15th result. Mostly arcade games(which I like) but come on quit tagging your arcade games that you sell as a business with pinball!!

    #4677 2 years ago

That almost looks like it has been in that spot it's entire life.

    #4678 2 years ago

I saw that Travel Time pinball ad. I thought the price was good. For some reason people pick a pin and say to themselves likes crank this price up!

That too would make me mad as your word is what you have around here. I wonder when we will start getting the Harvey slightly wet pinball ads?

    #4679 2 years ago

I played a Travel Time at a show once. I don't know if it was the way it was setup or what because I'm not that good of a player, but I rolled it twice, got bored, let it drain and let the time run out.

Will probably need a carburetor cleaning too.

Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

Not only is this price silly, that staircase to the left looks like death by pinball. You'd have to pay me $1500 or so just to risk moving it out of that place.

Not really a laugh but take a look at the pin cabinet. Is that one they built or sanded down to the wood? Or is it some kind of contact paper from the 70's? (If your old enough to remember that stuff)

"....as seen in HAPPY DAYS at Mels Dinner...." [Um, that would be "Arnold's"; Mel's Diner (not Dinner) was from the show "Alice".]

"Same model sold in the USA for $3600 recently" [Yeah, you not only referenced pinrescue.com, but also used the photo from their page. Note that pinrescue never actually lists what the machine actually SOLD for; just the asking price].

"I am only interested in trading for an American Strat" [Yet you list the Ad under "for sale > musical instruments - by owner"]

Perhaps he should be trading for reading and spelling lessons

Either woodgrain contact paper (Yes, I'm unfortunately old enough to remember........) or a really crappy stain application on a sanded cabinet? Either way, that's a shame........

Not as hard as you think. I can completely break down a WMS EM in less than 10 minutes. Take it down/up stairs by myself, done it numerous times. Once you remove the head, playfield and bottom board, it's pretty easy to move. Especially a single player.

Reality is sloooooooowly setting in. Now down to $12,500 from $15k. I've been watching just to see how far down they will go until it finally sells and seems to be going down in price everyday or so. I see they just got a new Jetson's also.
