The lengths people go to for taking just that perfect picture to sell their $1500+ item (listing had just this single pic)

Right up I-35 from ya. Yea i concur. Also why the Fuk are these junk Motorcycle ADs Saturating the PINBALL search ???

A lot of these ads will paste a ton of keywords just to get views. For instance, on my search today I came across a Gremlin replica when searching for "pinball -wanted -wtb".

Wouldn't you know it that the following was on the bottom of the ad:

"(Star Wars, kenner, tmnt, teenage mutant ninja turtles, ghostbusters, pinball, arcade 1up, power rangers, movie collectibles, VHS, Blu-ray, 4k, laserdisc, eames)"

    *sigh*

Extremely rare, too! Only 14,000 made!

    #8908 31 days ago

It's a limited edition as well Because I said so. Lol

    #8909 31 days ago

so much crack, so little time

Right? I notice no mention is made of any certification 3rd party... Maybe seller is confused and thinks that he has the much rarer EM version of this game, which clearly he does not.

    #8911 31 days ago

or...and hear me out here.....the seller is a douchenozzle and is just talking out his ass.... I know it's unheard of, but again....just consider the possibility.

    #8912 31 days ago

I sent him the link to the Eval Knievel pinside page, mainly to educate him. I didnt notice at the bottom of the information there is basically a "brand new" rebuilt machine for almost the same asking price. His response was...

Almost certainly, especially based on Jrwill13lv 's interaction with him above.

That's how they all act. I gave up trying to educate these people.

    #8915 31 days ago

There's a black knight listed currently for $4,800, initially listed for 9,900. It's been sitting for two months. The seller is clearly not a pinball guy. I sent the seller the pinside page and what I view was a fair offer, $2500. First thing he does is quote eBay price of a bk2000 - "its going for $17,500 on ebay". I tried to explain that they are different machines and the bk2000 isn't worth that much either lol. Obviously got nowhere and he told me he knows what it's worth and to move along.

If people can't be bothered to educate themselves, it is rarely worth my time to try to educate them no matter how good my intentions are.

I don't even think of trying at this point.

    #8918 30 days ago

It’s fine to point out mistakes, like the guy who didn’t realize he did not have the em rare version.

But as to price, it’s a waste of time. Besides the market is a better teacher. When it doesn’t sell for the sky high price, a seller must bring the price down or it won’t sell.

    Quoted from undrdog:

Agreed. But some sellers are stubborn or just aren't motivated to actually sell. There's a baseball card I've been eyeing on ebay for probably 15 years now and the just keeps relisting it at the insane price that's at least 10x market.

    #8920 30 days ago

That's like window shopping at a store where the lights are on but the door is always locked. Sucks.

It’s sad how so many adult men are simply unable to communicate through the written word.

    #8924 29 days ago

Horrible and confusing grammar aside, seller is asking at least $1k too much given recent sales, market trend, and condition of the game. I think I'll ask if he still has it so I can be blocked from future ads.

It may no longer be available….Better to ask him first.

$400 for a nice looking project is about right in D/FW. Hopefully, there’s parts inside!

Never having worked on an EM myself and dumbassery of the listing aside, is $400 unreasonable for a game that may or may not work? I see that Pinside estimates $800 or so for a working game. Again I haven't worked on an EM so it could be way too much of a gamble and you'd likely end up paying this clown $400 for the privilege of hauling off his garbage to the dump.

In Texas yes, for an EM, if it looks fairly nice. In California, $400 probably means mouse piss. I try to pay around $350 for a project.

Market is in the dumps right now. For a mid title EM project $400 is average leaning toward not great as theres a glut of EM projects because not as many people work on them. I more meant his attitude and demeanor is why it hasnt sold

OK, so anyone looking on CL in the PNW for pinball or arcade for over 4 years should know this INFAMOUS ad..lol..he's certainly consistent! It's been renewed for as long as I've been into all of this..seems like a crazy last ditch effort to exhale his jealousy..who knows?! No low-ballers!!

EM machines are zero gamble if they are complete inside. Anyone can get one working again simply by cleaning the stepper mechanisms, score reels, and switches. Not every EM machine is as fun to play as others though.
