    Quoted from Mojosan:

State has laws against that. We can cut the lock, open the door, and look inside. But we cant step foot inside or touch anything.
And any money the auction brings in over the amount of back rent owed goes to the tenant anyway...

Hold up... So I get to profit directly from my scam? WTF why haven't people done this yet? I should rent a unit and load it up and just wait for the check to come in.

Must be the same appraiser that the Pawn Stars use.

    #6259 5 years ago

I sent him a message the day it came up with the Pinside screenshot and let em know their appraiser was full of it - no response.

Honestly, that's probably not a bad deal on a Wild Card if it's in really good shape. It's a killer game, one of the very last Williams EMs, and they made less than a thousand of them.

In the article it says "the person who has serviced this machine for years" has appraised it. If I needed to charge $150 or so a year to service a Hollywood Heat, I certainly wouldn't tell them it was only worth 750...

    #6262 5 years ago

Given the information gathered in the listing and assuming it's 100% accurate - we can determine this person isn't exactly a major pin enthusiast or very knowledgeable about the hobby. Based on that - there's no way this machine in a home use only environment was getting enough use to require major yearly maintenance... Certainly not a full multiple hour teardown requiring a $150 charge.

Maybe it's easy for me to say since my repair business is a side venture that I genuinely enjoy doing, but being willfully dishonest with your customers to pocket a whopping $150 is a shitty way to do business. I'd rather give them the honest information, work with them to do more infrequent maintenance based on their actual needs, and build my business on positive word of mouth.

I run mine the same way. But... there are a few others in the PGH who will tell you whatever you need to hear for them to make a buck.

Wasn't my ad. Just surprised how long Craigslist left it up. I'm not at that point of passive aggressiveness with Craigslist posters. Assume it went with this ad.

Nice playing Williams Triple Strike pinball machine. Everything works. New rubber, new ball, new flipper bushings, new flipper EOS switches. Backglass has some minor flaking but presentable and has been sealed to prevent future loss of paint. 2 pricing tiers on this one. If you want to know what the minimum I will take is...that amount is ***$540***. If you would rather send several messages back and forth "negotiating" my asking price is $750 and you can talk me down to ***$540***. In garage for quick and easy loading. Feel free to text me anytime day or night.

This is a FACEBOOK laugh... A KING ROCK in Troy MI for $2800
And it looks like it is missing the flipper rubbers

I can only assume a newbie was duped 8nto thinking it was a real commercial full size pinball.

Estate sales guys pad the price so they can pad their commission! And when it doesn’t sell they pay the owner pennies on the dollar and take it back to their shop and put it on craigslist again!

I was there last Sunday on 50% off day, so it was only $1500.00....

I offered them half of that, but "$1500.00 is the lowest we can go". Some of the family members were there (parent passed away) so if it didnt sell, one of the kids was taking it. I'm guessing one of the kids got it.

That BSD in Troy has been for sale for a looonnnnnggggg time. All the pinheads I talk to around here joke about it. For somebody moving, he does not seem in too big of a hurry to sell.
