Come on eBay. That account, newly hacked, probably has millions of dollars of items for sale, all placed within minutes of each other.

That's the opening bid, not the sale price
Quoted from 0geist0:That's the opening bid, not the sale price
Oh it's worse than that. Look at the details. The seller is removing the bids and redirecting you to spoofed site to pay $1100 for it... with free shipping!
Edit: aaaand it's gone
Well now I would think prices will fall now because everyone will go "look its only 9.95 on ebay now."
Quoted from Colsond3:Yeah Buzz, I walk away from sales like that frequently. I've never raised the price after listing a game. Doing so is disingenuous and ridiculous. If you were good enough with the first price, don't try to raise it and gold dig.
Not into bidding wars anymore either. Love it when people now email you back after you agree to the original price and say "I just got an offer of $XX, (which is above what they listed the game for). They want to come today. What is your offer?"
There's always another one at some point. Well, usually.
Yeah, I usually nope out of ads that turn into secret auctions.
Luckily, I can usually arrange to pick up the same day or next day, so it doesn't seem to happen too often.

Around here everyone seems to be able to pick up the same day. The people who start those auctions turn them around and sell at retail basically. I hate to use the dreaded “flipper” word lol. I typically tell the seller to just let the other guy have it. It’s just all part of the game

Lol but since the ad specifically says “rainbow puke” I bet the person is on pinside
Is 2k a bad price for a fully restored Fire! ? Provided it is actually restored that might not be such a bad price?

Leave me alone, I'm playing pineball!!

the nicest BR you will see...with wear under sink ships and raised inserts...for 3500.00
Quoted from bob_e:but who puts a pinball in the kitchen?
I did once for a party. (Brought two games back from a show and hadn't taken them back downstairs yet) Don't have access to picks right now but it was a big kitchen!

And then after you tell them to get lost you get yet another email saying "That deal fell through, do you still want it for the listing price?"... Then you know they were full of shit.

I’ve actually had this work in my favor. At that point the table is turned and the price goes down. It seems to happen more when dealing with nonpinball people. They start hearing and seeing crazy retail prices and get big ideas that they are sitting on a gold mine. Then in the end they realize what they have is a piece of crap lol.

I've got three in my kitchen right now.
NOT on Craigslist but on Facebook...
Antique Star Explorer pinball machine $1100.00 in Centerville MI.
The link I last posted was an ad for a $495 Medieval Madness. It was an obvious scam, but it looks like it was pulled down a few hours later. Hopefully he didn't snare anyone.
How about a Data East The Simpsons for $9k? There must be 50lbs of quarters inside the machine that come with it.
Quoted from fnosm:Can anyone make out what pinball machine this glass is from?
The two closest things that that has to do with pinball is that it's from a Stern (Electronics) Super Cobra video game, and that the artwork might have been done by Doug Watson.

lol, in my area, there have been a set of skis that keep popping up every couple days. I can understand how maddening it can be.
Special collectors edition Addams for $14,000. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that looks suspiciously like a normal Addams with rust on the legs and some pretty good wear on the playfield....shouldn't it have gold trim and legs at least?
Sure, Pat signed it and a manual that’s with it...
That is a regular Addams Family pin. Perhaps it is running the Collector Edition game roms. It has some problems (keys missing among other things). The seller seems to believe that the signature makes the game more than twice as valuable.
They only made two versions, right? The regular and the golds.
The bookcase also looks weird, I don’t remember it rotating that far around.

Yeah, that's not right.
The bookcase plastic is missing. And the gold manual is just a scanned copy that was printed--it's not an original.
I bet the batteries are leaking too, especially since it's showing the memory reset messages on the DMD.
I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. ...
