    Quoted from GotAQuestion:

But in the MPF documentation I notice they're wired and addressed in series. It's my understanding that LEDs in series will share voltage equally across all the LEDs. So if I have a 48v power supply and 64 LEDs in series, each LED would get 0.75v of power wouldn't it? Which is not nearly enough. Or maybe it's that you could only simultaneously power 9.6 LEDs? Which would also not be enough.

Each LED gets connected to +5v and ground, but the data line goes in the led and then out to another led, giving you a chain of them.

Awesome! Thanks for all the answers. I feel like a huge asshole asking a bunch of questions like this but I can't find concise answers anywhere on Google and just talking to someone who has done it is so much more effective.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't mind answering any questions I can! More people doing homebrew pinball is awesome!

I feel like the Nano will be able to do everything I'm hoping to.

I use the nano in Spaceballs as well.

I have both a RGB DMD and a LCD.
