Quoted from PinballMikeD:In Chris’s defense I doubt he needs to spend that much time restoring a game in order to make it look this nice. That is the value of experience and nobody has more that him. I’m sure once I do half as many machines as Chris (like when I’m in my 60’s) I’ll be a little quicker too. Well, I hope so anyway. Like I said, I’d go broke if I where doing this for a living. That’s what amazes me the most about Chris; he can churn restorations out and they are absolutely phenomenal. In the end, I don’t really save any money doing these projects myself. I just enjoy restoring my pins, probably more so than play them actually.
Thanks again to everyone for the high praise. It’s always nice, especially when your wife just says, “That's nice, now when are you going to do the yard.”
I agree, I bet HEP would have spend half the time you did on this machine to achieve the same level of quality. Even that equation is mind boggling, say he charged you what the average certified high end car mechanic gets paid, you’d still be looking at upwards of 15K in labor alone. Your love for the hobby is VERY clear, I gotta hand it to you!
