Classic is tempting me. Topper and lock down bar look awfull but that;'s not my bag and I guess the more easy monies they get form that crowd the better.

Classic is tempting me. Topper and lock down bar look awfull but that;'s not my bag and I guess the more easy monies they get form that crowd the better.
Quoted from OnTheSnap:I find it interesting that most of the Pinsider's posting in this thread have many years already in the hobby.
Well it makes sense because it's an older game we've all played a million times.
Quoted from OnTheSnap:I've been in on the LE. Just having second thoughts, comparing it to other pins. And rumors of pins/companies coming next year.
LE is personal pref, you're paying for dolls and all yada yada...one thing not many people will dispute is Monster Bash is just a super fucking fun game. Made at the end of W/B era the dots, themes, and sounds are some of the best ever (and they weren't colored then) and the layout, rules, everything is a great time. Mini Wizard Mode, Wizard mode, Multi balls, replay animation...it's just all gold.
There's a lot of talk of it being too easy and it is what it is...some people play game just to "beat them," a that's a pathetic player right there.
Just played an LE and the game itself was very impressive...got me wondering aboot it & my lineup.
Sadly I read the Standard doesn't come with a big DMD, because the upgraded art is just sick; looks so damn good.
Everything else aboot the LE didn't do it for me but that shouldn't be a big surprise I guess.
Think I'll dig deeper in this thread a snoop around.
Quoted from GCS2000:Then go with the SE for $700 less than the LE.
SE has the bigger display?
Ah yes thanks guys, I was confused by the terminology... SE meaning special not standard /classic etc
Quoted from pintechev:You can turn the color GI off. Get the SE and enjoy the display. They give you all the options in the CGC menu.
Nice. Thanks for the info.
Quoted from Bublehead:If you like playing MB, and you have always wanted to own one with every bell and whistle, the LE at $8300 delivered...
Yeah for me all the bells and whistles are just a perfect PF and a new game. I was 1000% Standard before I saw the bigger screen, that's really the only improvement for me.
Quoted from f3honda4me:The LE gets a gauranteed higher grade playfield.
Wow that's lame. But even a lower grade has to be as good as the other companies these days which should be fine
Quoted from mamawaldee:Am I being too pessimistic?
Probably. They'll get far less traffic in a home, and quite frankly I don't think it's anymore to worry aboot then other companies (they all have issues).
Funny part is I was at Marvin's specifically to play Beatles, which was turned off. Played a bunch of Pirates that had loose PF part jangling around. Their AFM plays floaty as shit too.
Quoted from bigdaddy07:Purchasing a CE and trying to turn it into an SE makes zero sense.
Not for the consumer if it's cheaper.
Quoted from bigdaddy07:Sounds like a PITA just a save a tiny sum...
Thats like half the threads on Pinside
Couple hundred bucks ain't the worst thing g to save, but they do have them priced pretty well to make you jump up.
Quoted from bigdaddy07:Still makes little to no sense at all.
Sorry, 80% of threads
Quoted from 3pinballs:Problem with selling his topper if he ends up selling his game in the future, who's going to want to buy an LE without the Topper!
Well you wouldn't be selling it for LE price in theory.
Quoted from cheshirefilms:Has the topper even been confirmed to work on the SE through the backbox for interactive lighting?
..
Quoted from fanuminski:I have an MBR SE - did others receive an adapter in order to use this
AC power supply inside the cabinet?
[quoted image]
Always on. Standard w/b dongle

Quoted from Kneissl:Fake knockers might do it for some guys...
Rather have a real one but I don't think it's worth time or monies changing it out...for sure not $150
Quoted from Bublehead:.....what ever I spend to do it is worth every penny. Some of us old school pinheads....
use mod monies to buy more machines...or a bigger house
Is the bigger screen worth an extra 900-1000? That's the question I'm stuck with now.
I haven't seen a classic in person and 1K is a chunk...but goddamn that big one was impressive.
EDIT: Sorry I'll add NONE of the other upgrades are interesting to me at all and I'll be turning off what I can. It truly is just the screen for me
Quoted from GCS2000:SE gets you the better lighting....
Yeah I gotcha there but for me I don't want any of what's listed...for me it's honestly just the screen size so it's making it so difficult.
Quoted from Mokthemagicman:So are we finally done with the matching LE's? Are they shipping nonmatching now?
Can anyone confirm?
Yep look 1 page back at 76, they're shipping/recieved
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:You guys crack me up. I waited 8 months on preorder for Houdini!
Thats maybe the saddest story I've heard in awHile
Quoted from Diospinball:Lastly besides points what should I shoot for now.
Playing without the diaper of extra ball points?
Oh I'd be Pissed for sure. You cant floss that LE buyers get the best PFs and send this out. Scratched black cab whatever... Blotchy ink under clear, woof.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:anyone heard anything about non-US games?
Yes, most of them use 220v *rimjob*
Edit: damn autocorrect
Quoted from guss:I can get a deal from a dealer on a MBr SE that was on display at the TPF. Do they the get much use and is it worth the savings of $500?
I'd imagine the use they'll get is as long as the power is on, it will be played non stop.
$500 isachunk of change; to me anyway
Quoted from delt31:dumb question but does Franks ramp get used for more than starting and restarting frank MB? I love that shot so hopefully yes?
No
Quoted from delt31:really? What a great under utilized shot.....
There isn't much you could do with it per the rules, other than it opening up in MBs.
