Quoted from indypinhead:

Don't order the the 1st set listed on this post.....
VERY poorly made.

damn...i jumped the gun and ordered these - thinking these would be nice with the extra cushion. why
do they "suck"? (i havent received them yet)

#853 5 years ago
Quoted from indypinhead:

Please post your opinion, once you've received your orders.

Quoted from indypinhead:

They are very poorly made. Cheap artwork applied to poorly cut 3M double sided tape(the gray tape that you would use on automotive trim).
I design/machine pinball mods on the side. I would be ashamed to try to sell something like this to the public.
I filed for a refund via epay.

well - they look like they're cut out (poorly) with scissors. I'm going to just eat it... may use the Frank and Drac ones -
you won't notice how poorly cut they are from playing distance. I'm more concerned with how they will hold
up on the targets and not spit out pieces of that foam or backer material that was used.

Does anyone know the size of the SE in the box? I am trying to figure out if I can get it through a door before taking it out of the box.
Thanks

** also - if it comes on a skid/pallet - what is the narrowest dimension of the skid?
I'd like to keep it on the skid while two wheeling through my patio door if I can.
thanks

Quoted from jbug:

Here it be: ebay.com link » Monster Bash Pinball Cushioned Target Protectors Choose Pic 1 Or 2 $21.99
The flipper bats decals by this seller is nice also: ebay.com link » New Monster Bash Pinball Flipper Armour Mod $13.99
And here is the other target stickers that I saw: ebay.com link » Monster Bash Pinball Machine Target Decal Set $32.99

I blame Jbug for buying these .... OK just kidding
I just wanted to re-post the Ebay links so that you know who the seller is/was

Just my impatience to buy and get these before my game arrives ... what a moron I was. Jeez...I definitely got the #2 batch lol

#867 5 years ago
Quoted from jbug:

Like you, I wanted to have them on hand before receiving the game. I'm not down on these as some are. They are sturdy and I like the images cept for the Phantom Flip but that is such a small sticker that I won't fuss. If they stick and stay on, I'm fine with these.

yeah, i agree. if they stick weil, ill be happy with the frank and drac ones. its too bad he doesnt have a more
precise cutting method, plus, whats 27 vs cost of the pin! lol

#929 5 years ago

still waiting for word on my SE. I'm getting a bit impatient on the delay.
paid in full almost a month ago... wonder how many others are still waiting for
their CE or SE

#940 5 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

wow thats frustrating...I never pay in full unless my game is shipping in the next couple days

My distributor had to pay in full for a block of so many games to get into CGC's "Q" so to speak... so I had to pay in full
in order to get into that "block" of games.

I was told that they (SE's) were delayed due to some part shortage -

and that it could be mere days or a week or two delay yet.
My distributor has to wait until he is told they are ready before he/she
can give them shipping instructions (mine is being drop shipped)
That was last Friday.

#943 5 years ago

I heard they were short on Frank (figure) - so as not to delay the LE's, they were
going to substitute this one (at no extra charge ) you'll just have to be carefull of ball hops breaking
his finger.

Quoted from ShinyBall:

I hope that is not true. Hate to have a a diffo figure.... especially with potential to breaking.

naw... just my attempt at humor...

why wouldn't CGC not contract with Cliff for his style Cliffy?
sounds to me like they sort of ripped his idea off.

pics of my SE with side decals from :
SILLYOLDELF MODS
Decals for vintage and modern pinballs.
(I was very impressed with these decals - I think they are superb!)

played about a dozen games -some quick thoughts:
** mosh pit protector already dinged up a lot( i do have a mantis&cliffy when needed)
**lighting for me with my crap overhead can lights off due to glare requires spot lights
for lower area imo. ill probably put in lights
** overwhelmed by all the adjustments that canbe done - i spent 1/2 hour playing around and pushing
the wrong buttons too many times. time to read the manual. lol

after playing for a few weeks, I've noticed a couple things that I think one should check and look at.
The metal edges of some ramps have not been de-burred as well as they could be.
There are definite areas of sharp points that will ding up your balls. I've already replaced all of mine
and used very fine sandpaper (1000-2500 grit) to run along the edges of these metal burrs.
the starting edge of the ramp in the shoot out lane, the trough edges of where the ball drains
and also inside the trough -where it captures your balls. The ramp under frank to the exit to the habitrail.
the ramp on the right to the right flipper return also. If you feel with your finger, you will see what I mean.
YMMV

Quoted from elf70:

And that drain protector... That little bit that is cut out on the edge so the ball can go down easier..
Nope. the inside lip there sticks up just enough to catch the ball and keep it from draining. takes some good shaking sometimes to get it to go down. I've pushed it down a few times.. it always comes back up after a couple games.
Is there a trick to keeping that down inside the hole?

I removed the apron (2 screws) and you will find that drain protector held in with 3 screws.
i removed the protector and bent that cut out area down a bit , took fine sandpaper to remove a bit of burr
and replaced. easy 10 -15 min fix

Went to Chicago Gaming Monster Bash page and clicked on the software update info there.
Went to Walmart and bought a 32gig Micro SD card (with adapter) for $10.
Took me over 75 minutes of various (slow) downloading to finally finish.
I do have a fast internet...but running Windows XP maybe slowed the process.
Also couldn't unzip the first file until I downloaded some other program.

Took me a minute to find where the SD card went -lol

When finished, had to turn down volume to 3 - and only had a chance to play a few games
to see if I noticed a difference - first impression was it seemed more sharp ... more bass too -
but it could be just subjective or a placebo effect?

I wish you could just plug in an ethernet or USP cord from the game to your PC and download direct

Quoted from LP30:

SAIA. The driver was very good about it. He even asked if I wanted to open the box as he rolled it up and said that I could refuse delivery if there was damage. I took one look at it and said I could see damage through the fork lift hole in the side. He took a couple of pictures, made a phone call, apologized and loaded it back up.

When there is obvious damage (ie:forklift hole), I always wonder why the shipping company would load/ship it
to the customer in the first place -and not inspect it at their warehouse/loading dock.

My delivery driver unloaded mine with his pallet jack and helped me get it inside my house and inspect it. (and cut it open)
slipped him a twenty. I found it a bit strange that he had no idea at all of what the big carton was.

Quoted from cheshirefilms:

People who are blindsided by the fact that all the best playfield prizes were out of their playfield lottery have a right to be unsatisfied. I and many of my SE peers are no less collectors for a $700 savings. Plus- the LEs aren't available unlimited. All we'd have asked for is fair disclosure, up front, so we could have made the right decision for our investments!

This ^^

I opted for an SE for the reason of nit having room for the topper and notneeding that. the trim, although very nice, i also
choose the $$ savings. i added to my SE.(side decals , plasma mod)
However, had i known that Playfields were also a factor, i would have chosen the best (ie: LE)
imho, this should be clarified on the webpage with differences between the trim levels.

Im rather shocked and diasappointed that this is or wasnt explained upfront by CGC

I had posted my pics of sillyoldelf decals before -
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/monster-bash-remake-mbr-owners-club/page/29#post-4744186

Just want to add that I think it would be a good idea
to get the interior side cabinet protectors like these from pinball life
https://www.pinballlife.com/interior-cabinet-protector-blade-set.html

to save your decals from getting scraped up. well worth the investment

I have an MBR SE - did others receive an adapter in order to use this
AC power supply inside the cabinet? (Is this a "switched" or always live outlet?)
thanks

Quoted from zpinman370:

I know dimples are part of pinball however after only 45 games I am already seeing a noticeable area around Frank. I dialed down my flipper strength from default to -4 to try and stop the air balls. I have to say the clear coat is not as good as I expected from CGC being this is an LE and they were supposed by a bit above par. I put brand new silver jets in the machine from new and I did notice that the balls have nicks and scratches in them already so not sure where that is coming from at this low a number of plays. Have swapped them out and installed another new set. I did notice the scoop has a couple of rivets in there so is it possible they are damaging the balls upon entry and exit? This is a problem that if the chrome balls are being damaged could chew up the playfield in short order. Is anyone else having the same issue as that is actually more concerning than the dimples for me? I love the game but am almost afraid to play it in fear of really messing up the playfield. Recommendations appreciated.

Is the shaker worth getting on mbrse?
Whens it go off?

How come a shaker motor for a Stern Pin (ie: Star Wars Pro , Deadpool, etc...) costs only $110 but
one for MBRSE is upwards to $179 ?

Seems a bit excessive to me.. (supply and demand?)

just a thought - could the ball movement be the result of "spin" on the ball from crazy fast lane/ramp exits or by hitting areas (like frank) ?
this game is pretty fast.

I am looking for a topper for the Monster Bash I'm getting next week. Is there anything available other than the clear acrylic one from laseriffic and the one from CPR? I was hoping Tilt Topper made one for this game, but unfortunately not. Any help is appreciated.

I just added a post for a price check for my custom topper that I made that may be available - seen here:
