Don't know if anyone has posted this.
A friend of mine sent me this photo this morning of Leonard Cohen playing an original MB.
Pretty cool, love his music.

Quoted from TODD969:

Congratulations, great machine out of box!

LOL soon, very soon.
I had to run home from the office to meet the delivery guy.
Took the photo after I hauled it in the house and went to back to work.

Funny, the delivery guy was kind of pissy.
I was going to offer him $100 tip to help me get it from the driveway, up 5 steps and though the front door.
He just wanted to bounce, so I didn't even bring it up and handed him a $20 said thanks and he took off.
My wife helped me get it up the stairs, so I handed her the remaining $80.

Well, I was going to wait until after I got back from CAX to unbox it, but when I got home from work the kids bombarded me and asked if we could open her up.
I waited till after dinner and they had their pajamas on etc. because I knew that ass soon as we were done it was time for them to go to bed.

Started with the topper.
My 8 year old son really wanted to open it open so I gave him a screwdriver and let him go to town.

Once he got all the screws out and the lid was off I took over.
More so just incase he slipped with the screwdriver and nailed the topper.
The kids were pretty impressed with it once it was out of the box.

Now that the toppers out it's time to open up the machine itself and see what we got.
I know some people are big on saving boxes, I'm bigger on recycling them and could care less about saving them.
For me it serves as a nice piece of cardboard to set the machine up so I don't mess up the floor.
We opened this up in the front foyer just to set it up because of space.
When I get back from CAX I'll put it on the pinball trolley and wheel it into the other room with all its friends.

The kids are doing all the work removing the leg bolts so we can put the legs on her.
Today they learned to just use the ratchet to loosen the bolt and after that the bolt should come out smoothly by hand.
While putting the legs on they learned this in reverse.
They also learned that if the leg bolts are not going in smoothly to back them out and try again so they didn't cross thread the bolt.
My daughter who is 10 got in on the action at this point.

I know people have different ways they like to set up their pins.
If the pin is standing upright we always put on the front legs first.
After that slowly tilt her forward and rest the machine on its front legs.
Then lift up the back and with slide the pinball trolly underneath the cab or in this case I used a stool to support the back.

Before we laid the game forward my son wanted to unwrap the head box and cut the support strap on it so he could see the play field.
This was actually a good moment because I got to explain to him that if we did that we might damage the head box and we didn't want to do that until we had all four legs on it and it was set up.

He also helped put the back legs on.
Our mantra at that moment was "tight is good, but too tight is broken".
I explained to him that the bolts should go in nice and easy and if they don't, lets back them out and start over so we don't strip them.
He did a pretty good job, but I had to tighten them a little bit at the end for him.

After the back legs were on we lifted her up and slid the stool out.
Now it's time to put the head box up.

Opened up the head box and put the bolts in.
My son asked why I was doing that and I said " because when the monsters start a rockin we don't wan the head box to come a knockin".

After the bolts were in we put the topper on and hooked it up.

After that, put a light coat of wax on the play field, put the balls in it and hooked up the power cord and turned her on.
We let the kids play the first games.

Pretty simple set up, even with the kids doing most of the work I think it took around 45 minutes.

Beautiful machine and we are really happy with it.
So far the kids friggin love it.
They think its like Hotel Transylvania as a pinball machine. LOL

When I get back from CAX Monster Bash will be going in the main pin room in the house in-between Dr. Who and Creature where Judge Dredd is.
JD will going in the arcade/pin room and taking the spot where an arcade game now sits.
Need to still figure out which arcade game has been demoted to the garage.
