Quoted from Bublehead:

Yeah. Sucks doesn’t it?, so do failed right ramps coming back SDTM, or failed Frank shots heading for STDM or catch the back of a phantom flip target and head toward right outlane, or failed left ramps coming SDTM or just catching the sling and then SDTM... or... all the shots in MB are risky. Not a single one is a gaurantee except the scoop, but hard in and outs do dumb things too. The orbits are safer, but not off Drac’s feet. Reason I love MB... hit it or shit it. There is no try.

Or failed mosh pit spinner shots coming back sdtm...(you may have mentioned that one). Lots of risky shots in MB. They seem easy enough, and they are when you are feeling it. If you are off just a bit, the monsters will get you.

I don’t know why I didn’t think to adjust the right legs a bit to stop Drac soccer. Mine hits Drac just slightly about 60% of the time and often with deadly results. But I kinda hate the idea of having a slight right-left tilt. But might be only easy solution.

Quoted from PinballCoug:

1- my scoop STDM is going on 2 1/2 months and still not fixed. Guess Bublehead will get his MBr before my scoop is working!
2- I bent the ball guide out slightly and now even slow orbits miss Drac's feet. I first tried raising the right levelers, perhaps too much, but noticed it affected the ball path coming down the playfield.

I had the same problem with my Dialed In! cell phone scoop - kicked out and wasn’t coming out clean, probably too hard, and was going sdtm about half the time. I tinkered with the scoop physically (it had a tiny bit of play) and it helped. One frustrating reason I traded that pin. My MBr scoop just barely hits the tip of the left flipper on kickout. It’s definitely a clencher, but it stays in play, luckily. Just one of the deliciously sneaky hard features on this game.

Sillyoldelf side art blades look fantastic on this game! I ordered the RGB trough light and I think LED flipper buttons from PBL are a great idea. I’ve actually never installed those. I have them on a couple pins, but they were already on when I bought them. Some pics of my blades are below. Sillyoldelf makes gorgeous blades for LOTR too!

Thanks for the spring washer/scoop fix, Metal-Mods! Also, regarding the ball save on this pin, I did adjust my settings to add 10 seconds to it. I’m an ok player but I get frustrated when I lose balls before I even establish control of the ball. It seems like most original MB pins I’ve played in the wild had no ball save, or almost none. Seems to fit with the feel of this pin. But I need a chance to get started! It seems like MM and AFM are the same way, usually set to no ball save, or a very short one.

Hi, Monster Bashers! I was in the club 2 years ago and I’m thinking of coming back. I’m looking for a minty one with low plays and no wear/damage if anyone is thinking about a change. I have an AFMr with 81 total plays if someone is looking for one. I’ll post a wanted ad soon but wanted to check here too. Thanks!

Rejoining the club with an SE with awesome blue powder coat soon. Worked out a trade for a game I really like, but couldn’t pass on a minty MBr SE! Plus, I was fortunate to add a MMr and an AFMr this summer, so I’m finally going to have all 3 of these amazing pins at the same time! Plus, I heard a rumor from a little bird that Silly Old Elf may have another run of his fantastic MB art blades available soon! If you haven’t seen them, check them out. I had them on my SE in 2019 and I love the art. Muck? Seaweed? Algae? Pond Scum!!!

Those are awesome too! Amazing talent!

Quoted from MMP:

Please post a pic with your blue powder coat when you get the game. I was considering doing my legs up in some medium/lighter blue.
Agreed, the silly old elf inner cab art is awesome.

Here is the example I’m getting next week…

Yep, the current owner put those on. I use nylon washers on most of my pins too, especially if the legs are powder coated. I think both PU-Parts and Pinball Life sell them in many colors.

That happens to me a lot. I have a feeling an order for more supplies will be coming soon…

caught it just in time!! Margaret is awesome!

I thought you might catch her in time! I added pop bumper caps to my order recently after I forgot them! She is awesome. I keep lots of those vinyl washers on hand. They seem to come in handy.

Rejoined the MBr club today! My toddler is really getting into pinball and he can’t wait to play this game!

Does anyone who bought the tesla coil dome mod have the original stacked plastic coil flasher dome they would be willing to sell? Message me if so. I have the mod but would like the original left tower. I only have the one on the right. Thanks!

Quoted from northvibe:

dang.. I'm new to the game and don't play like slow taking specific shots often. So my flipping on the fly nets me 20-50 million average and I've had 1 game so far that broke 60 and got me on 4th place, iirc? Game is all default everything except freeplay. I was curious how you get 500 but I assume people are getting into multiballs or some good scoring mode and really hitting the right things.

I think starting multiple monster modes right before you start Frank multiball can put some big points up. 500 is a huge score for me. I think 700 was my best ever.

#8273 2 years ago
Quoted from mbeardsley:

The real advantage of having other monster modes running when you start Frank multiball is that the timers for the other monsters get paused while the multiball is active. This means you have a lot better chance of collecting the instruments.
The real way to get big points on MBr is to get to the second or third Monsters of Rock, which means you need to be good at collecting the instruments.

Thanks! You can see I never collect all the instruments. I can collect 5, but I’m forever shooting the bride ramps. I think 16 ramps are needed to start and finish that instrument? Unless the scoop can advance that mode, or you can get free shots via the launch button? The only way I can complete her mode is to start it first and focus on it.

#8326 2 years ago

Finally! Today was the day I collected all the instruments and reached Monsters of Rock mode! I also reached Monster Bash twice, and got Mosh Pit near the very end too. Easily my best game ever at 552 million! The Ball and Chain (Bride) mode had been my biggest obstacle, until someone here noted the spinner will reset the mode timer. That was what I needed. Thanks for the tip. Now to finish MM and AFM!

I didn’t notice anything suggesting I made it to Lyman’s Lament. Didn’t earn a 666 award or animation either. Only succeeded to put the band together for MOR. If there is more to achieve I’m glad to hear it! I saw that 3 billion score when I posted mine…4 MOR??? That’s bonkers!

Frankie had an accident. Not sure how it happened but more importantly, I’m not sure how this is supposed to reattach. Any suggestions or pictures appreciated.

That’s how you finish the game, when Frank face-plants onto the playfield. Poor Frank. I hope you get him back on the slab.

My 3 year has Covid. Doing well tho!
She had a fever last night, so she stayed up with me after I gave her some Tylenol and had a few beer and played some pinball!

My son is 3 and loves pinball. He just started school last fall and we worry about him. I hope she is feeling better.

Quoted from Swoods5688:

Just joined the club what did everyone do for side blades or mirror blades?
[quoted image][quoted image]

Mirrors look good and my favorite art blades for this pin are made by Pinsider Silly Old Elf. He makes excellent art for MB and LOTR. Matches the pf very well.

Quoted from beltking:

For those with medieval and attack from mars, is it worth picking up monster bash or is it too similar and gets old? At the arcade it’s hard to tell if it’s a keeper or not.

I find MM and AFM to be similar in feel (but very different in theme and execution) but MB is the most unlike the others, imho. It’s just hard enough to collect all the instruments for Monsters of Rock, and the theme and art package are just so cool, if you like the classic monster movies. Plus, I’ve yet to unlock Lyman’s Lament!

#8519 2 years ago

I’ve only assembled all the instruments and reached Monsters of Rock once. I can get Monster Bash most games, but I always struggle to finish Bride and get the microphone. It takes up to 16 ramp shots to get it (4 shots to left and right ramps to start mode and then repeat to finish), although you can collect some free shots at the scoop and skill shots. So tonight I started with Bride and collected the microphone on ball 1. Of course I then struggled to get more than 2 more after that. Oh, well. I’ll figure it out someday! People say this game is easy. Are they actually finishing this game? It’s not easy for me.

Quoted from gwarrior:

Apologies in advance if this has already been addressed.
About Drac's feet.
Design flaw, or is the ball bouncing off his feet off the right orbit a purposeful feature?
If a design flaw does anyone know if the "cut feet" Drac is intended to fix this:
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/31-3112.1

I always understood the Drac feet problem to be an unintended design flaw (Drac soccer), but one that affects some and not others. My first MB drove me nuts with this prob. My current one never hits his feet. If it did, I would replace with the cut feet mod.

#8589 1 year ago
Quoted from gwarrior:

What I mean is that in order for Drac to register hits by the ball, he needs feet. If the feet are removed completely to prevent "bounce off" from the right orbit, then how does it register hits during Drac Attack?

Just the front half of his feet are “cut” off. When he’s tucked away in his coffin, his toes poke out and kick the ball. With no toes, that doesn’t happen, but you can still hit his stubs during Drac Attack.

Quoted from midcoastsurf:

Do any of you turn off the feature?

I turn it off. I like the innovative idea of it, and it’s neat when it works and makes a shot, but I personally find it distracting and I forget when it’s taking over and when it’s not. So I’ve had mine off the past year or so and prefer that. But that’s just me.
