I'm still on the fence between SE and LE. Will decide when CGC releases full details.

#21 5 years ago

Chances are getting slim that we will see something this week. Hope I'm wrong.

Or watching paint dry...

Or BOTH. This is way past crazy.

Quoted from jbug:

Someone mentioned that steel leg protectors are built into the cabinet from the factory.

They surely will as both MMr and AFMr do. CGC builds a VERY nice machine.

#400 5 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Was yours a CGC build? My MMr had no coin mechs and was a Stern build.

CGC built MM's have coin mechs. They also have the melamine cabs.

#405 5 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

What's a melamine cab look like?

The inside plywood on cabinet sides is covered in melamine / formica.

#411 5 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

so plywood PLUS a layer of melamine on the inside of the cab? That is odd; what is the point of the melamine on the inside?

Correct. My guess is they did it for a nice uniform look. The cabinets on the CGC remakes are very nicely made.

#441 5 years ago
Quoted from EricHadley:

I think you and your family should decide, not a bunch of pinsiders

This is the best advice I've read on Pinside in awhile. Bring family to a dealer that has both and go from there.

#506 5 years ago
Quoted from DJNOEL30:

How did CGC come to be, is it a spin off of Stern or is this a completely independent company that started from scratch? It feels like the responses to customer requests, updates and quality just seem off the chart

CGC is a division of Churchill Cabinet Company. Been around a long time making cabs and playfields

#518 5 years ago
Quoted from DG_Amuse:

Not sure about that, but it looks damn good. Such a cool format for a display

I agree. I wish more manufacturers went this format over the standard LCD screens.

#791 5 years ago
Quoted from JeffF:

Does anybody have information on if and when the color upgrade may be available for the CE version? I couldn't come up with anything via Google.

It definitely will be available. Try calling the Gameroom Guys. They have the MM and AFM version for $399 and free shipping.

Quoted from tomtest:

I have a couple hundred games on my SE and the protector is beat to hell.

If you haven't yet, open a ticket with CGC.

Don't you feel a (full moon) fever coming on!? Just to be safe you should call in sick.

Quoted from NightTrain:

Anyone know if CGC's warranty is transferable to the 2nd owner?

It's not.

#1663 5 years ago
Quoted from Ricochet:

They are clear. The LEDs are RGB on the SE/LE... I think this is why.

Correct. They are amber / orange on the CE.

#1744 5 years ago
Quoted from Ricochet:

Not a sticker. They are lexan... the button holds them in.

Where did you get these?

#1750 5 years ago

On MBr only the LE comes with it standard.

You can get one here

#1778 5 years ago
Quoted from bigdaddy07:

I actually think the shaker integrates well with AFM and it really adds to the experience when blowing up the saucers

I agree. I love the shaker on both MMr and AFMr. On MMr I wish it went off on locking balls to match the DMD animation though.

#2338 5 years ago
Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Does CGC make or source playfields?

They make them. They also made a ton of the W/B playfields back in the day.

#2394 5 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

This would be a good time for CGC to stop in with an update.

Agreed!

1 week later
#2887 5 years ago
Quoted from KornFreak28:

Great to hear that! I'll probably buy an SE myself but with news of cabinets splitting

The cabinets are not splitting.

#2959 5 years ago
Quoted from mummite:

That giant mega light pcb underneath scares me hope that thing never goes out.

Even if it does its very repairable.

#3216 5 years ago

I'm really surprised that CGC not contacted owners on the tickets submitted or posted an update here. This can't be good for sales.

#3433 5 years ago
Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:

No way
Williams/Bally never left that off any of their games

Yes way. Didn't have one. There was a pretty easy way to add it in and turn off the virtual knocker in software.

#3438 5 years ago

http://thepaisleys.azurewebsites.net/PaisleyPinball

Info here on how to add to the original but obviously won't help with the remakes. Will be interesting to see if it can be added to the remakes. Nothing beats a real knocker!

#3526 5 years ago
Quoted from EricHadley:

I wonder if the LE topper would work on anything but an LE? I'm guessing not........Reason I say that is when my machine boots I notice is says "LE" somewhere in the boot sequence

Pretty sure that it has an external driver board like AFMR LE has.

#3575 5 years ago
Quoted from Pinballocd:

So far. Opened box still on pallet. Had to get to work. Will know tonight.

Just out of curiosity, why did you accept the shipment? We're you able to see in the box and machine looked ok? Did they have any explanation as to how it got damaged?

That looks AWESOME!

#4669 5 years ago
Quoted from ChiroCop:

I've noticed this as well. Don't believe I've ever seen it illuminated on mine.

I'm pretty sure this lights when you get Mummy Jets (aka super jets). I believe it's 60 hits.

#4671 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

Well the big confusing thing to all of this is that the actual machine production of all models could be as high as 70 per week, with just not a lot of LE’s included in the mix. Who knows?

Would be interesting to know how many of each have been built at this point.

#4682 5 years ago
Quoted from Monk:

I...must....resist.

The color upgrade is not cheap but well worth it. Give in and you'll be happy!

#4686 5 years ago
Quoted from Monk:

Where can I order the chip from? Does CGC sell it directly.

You can also get it here with free shipping.

https://www.gameroomguys.com/Monster-Bash-HD-Color-Display-Upgrade

#4710 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

Updating software is what I assume.

There was an update to adjust volume levels and to fix a bug where the custom logo was not sticking after machine was shut down.

#4713 5 years ago
Quoted from Bublehead:

Sorry, I’m actually just on an edge today... thinking of doing exactly what you said.

Man. I hope you get your game soon Bublehead! I know how much you are looking forward to it. I feel your pain.

#4716 5 years ago
Quoted from zpinman370:

Now what about my balls issue lol - bueller, bueller, anyone

This is one I haven't seen yet. I am getting my SE today and will check them after a few days and report back.

#4720 5 years ago

Got my SE today. She is all tucked in with her siblings.

Number 915 arrived today. I can't set it up until after work.

Don't you feel a fever coming on? Or maybe you ate something that didn't agree with you? Both? You should take a sick day to be safe!

#4786 5 years ago
Quoted from Jodester:

For those still waiting on the game, it was totally worth the wait.

Artwork and sounds are amazing. My playfield has no issues and looks great.

Light show on the LE is spectacular.

Agreed! CGC did an amazing job on the game. The color changing GI impresses me every time we play. The game is a HUGE hit with my entire family.

Also, I can’t get the Lymans lament chest to work on 1.06 code. What gives?

Nice to see you got your game and are playing the crap out of it!

#5344 4 years ago
Quoted from Zablon:

Which flipper is it SUPPOSED to spit to? Mine spits solid left 100%

Mine and every one I've ever played goes to the left flipper.

Nice GC score on day 1!

Quoted from CubeSnake:

Looking to pick up a CE in the CT area, new out of box/slightly used is fine. Going to Pintastic later this month...anyone know of any deals to be had there? Or if anyone has one f/s let me know...TIA

Check with dealers going to the show. You should be able to get $500 off one that's used as a demo.

#5677 4 years ago
Quoted from gearheaddropping:

not even the color chip.

The color chip is DEFINITELY worth the $400!

#5679 4 years ago
Quoted from gearheaddropping:

Well, there begins the slippery slope of mods and I would probably just try to find a used SE or LE. I could add the color chip, art blades, a topper, some upgraded RGB lighting and I would have.........a modified CE with 1k in mods.

All very good points!

1 month later
#5791 4 years ago

You will find both setting in the CGC options menu. Hold the escape button inside coin door down for 5 seconds to enter

1 week later
#5877 4 years ago
Quoted from gjm7777:

I want to add some spotlights to the game, does anyone have a good location to tap 5v?

You can tap 5V and 12V right at the power supply.

#5879 4 years ago
Quoted from gjm7777:

Thanks, that is an idea - but i'd probably have some wires hanging then (especially when raising the playfield) to worry about.

Yeah. I thought about that after I posted. Problem is pulling off the PCB under PF would almost certainly void your warranty on that board. I think I'd run the wires to the back of the cabinet and then up to PF if it was me just to be safe.

#6090 4 years ago
Quoted from PinballGalore:

The learning curve is understood, that’s not the issue here. What happened was that one side of the feature was disabled altogether. Only one side would light up while the other was just completely disabled, so when you hit the flipper for the blue light to switch sides, because that’s the inlane the ball is going to, it would not light or register it as a phantom flip. Nothing to do with learning the shot. That’s why it was so odd. Never happened when I got the machine in June nib.

I had the exact same issue. The next day it was working again. Never did figure it out. This was several months ago and it's never happened again.

#6104 4 years ago
Quoted from Higloss67:

The Cliffy seems to fit tighter to the playfield and allows the ball to roll in the scoop from the side a lot more. The direct shots to the scoop don’t get rejected quite as much either. So far it was worth the effort.

Thanks for posting this. I think I'm going to do the same to mine as the scoop rejections are driving me crazy!

I think another part that highlights the dimples is that the clear now is not only thicker but also way more glossy. The original clear was more matte.
