Quoted from beltking:

For those with medieval and attack from mars, is it worth picking up monster bash or is it too similar and gets old? At the arcade it’s hard to tell if it’s a keeper or not.

I avoided monster cuz I had both AFM and MM. mistake! I bought it and now wish I would have bought it earlier!!

Mystery nut/broken bolt and mystery bolt

Looking over my Bash for a little PM and I found both of these in the bottom of the cabinet.

Any ideas or common issues or places I should look?

So when I popped the top today found these three parts in the cabinet. Figured out the bushings are for Frank up and down but the screw is smaller then every other screw in the game.

LTG I need you. Left flipper flips but then goes crazy flipping rapidly about 10 times then drops. All this while holding the button in the entire time.

TIA!!

Quoted from LTG:

Broken wire or solder joint at the coil lugs, and dig around the thin wires from the coil windings to the coil lugs, easy to have a crack or break you can't see.
Less common bad coil, issue inside the wrapper you can't see or fix.
You could swap left and right flipper coils, but if you get that far I'd just replace the coil.
LTG : )

I did find one of thin wire broken and tried to solder it back on. What is the best way to remove the coating from the coil wires?

Thanks

Quoted from LTG:

Scrape, sand, file, hold gently with a pliers and pull. Heat up with a soldering iron and try flux to get solder to stick. Etc. Etc.
LTG : )

Thanks LTG works like a champ now it was the little wire

Hopefully see you Friday!!!

LTG where do you source the flipper fuses from? Locally? if possible.

Quoted from LTG:

I usually add them to an order so I have them on hand.
Planetary Pinball Supply, Pinball Life, Marco Specialties.
LTG : )

How long does it take to put in the metal pull down in a pop bumper. Lower right, both metal post snapped off by the nutz.

#8984 9 months ago
Quoted from LTG:

Depends on your tools. And which one, you might have to remove the wireform over it, or at least loosen to get out of the way to remove the two screws holding the pop bumper cap on. 11/32nds nut holds them down over slingshot plastic. Remove the pop bumper cap.
I use a 5/16 nut driver below the playfield. Two nuts on the pop bumper ring rods. Yours are snapped off, hold what's left with a vice grip to remove the nut. Should be a couple washers too.
Slide the busted pop bumper ring up and out. Slide the new one in. Below the playfield fiddle around and line up the holes on the metal yoke and fiber board yoke that hooks to the plunger. Stick the washers on then the nuts. When you fasten the nuts, finger tight is good enough. Over tighten bends the rods and they break off prematurely.
Half hour should do it.
LTG : )

thanks about 15 minutes due to perfect instructions!!!

Quoted from MrSanRamon:

Most of the black stuff comes from solenoid action.
Robert

Funny I believe flynnibus had mentioned this in some thread and said the black stuff was metal.

Well metal is attracted to magnets so I put some magnets in my dads MB.

The magnets grab the black stuff well.
