Yes I was at freeplay also and I agree MB was great I would have to go with the larger colorful display don’t necessarily need the toppers.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:CGC built MM's have coin mechs. They also have the melamine cabs.
What's a melamine cab look like?
Quoted from KozMckPinball:What's a melamine cab look like?
The inside plywood on cabinet sides is covered in melamine / formica.

Sorry, ihave not paid much attention to remakes lately.
Are they really not plywood cabinents like all other machines in current era?

Plywood all around including the bottom, no MDF. Also, apparently melamine on the cab inside.

We got a MMr a few months back and the bottom of the cabinet is plywood, with nice black melamine plywood everywhere else, same as our AFMRLE. I must admit, very nice touch, game looks awesome. I went to put glue in all the corners of the cabinet and it was already done. Looks like MBr will be the same.

so plywood PLUS a layer of melamine on the inside of the cab? That is odd; what is the point of the melamine on the inside?

Correct. My guess is they did it for a nice uniform look. The cabinets on the CGC remakes are very nicely made.

great to hear! I figure they have been doing cabinets longer than anyone so glad to hear they are still making improvements.
I think CGC wants to make the best machines they can, well, because that is what sells. Right now they are standing on the shoulders of giants. They have a selection of proven titles that people want, and they continue to improve their machines and processes with each title they re-release. Including improving the cabinet insides with laminate.
But it is easy to sell crack to a crackhead...
CGC currently has a business model that seems to be working. Offer remakes in differing trim levels just like the other manufacturers offer new titles. I like them, I have my MBrLE on order and would have a TAFrLE on order if they made it.
When CGC takes the risk and does what the others do, i.e. develope NEW IP, they will find that new game development is a lot harder than building quality recreations. I hope they listen to that little voice that says “Why not update proven titles with more modern rules and toys?”
What would a Centaur III be like from CGC? Now there is some food for thought.
So just got a message from Sara at PPS and everything is on track on their end. She is estimating that I will get my MBr LE either the first or second week of December. I am super excited, love this game and can't wait to have this in the home!

Were you a matching serial number buyer?
I haven't gotten any more info from JJ at Gex since his initial 30 to 90 day email. That was on October 23rd...

No I didn’t purchase anything prior as it relates to CGC remakes. I just made the decision and paid for it in full. I do know that those serial matching buyers will get theirs first though.
I had to call Chicago Gaming earlier in the day. Had a question about pinball height...with topper. They appear to be taller than my Sterns. I used the opportunity to inquire when MB LE's would be delivered. He said SE's just shipped...then on to LE's with matching serial numbers. Mine will be non-matching...these should make it under the Chrustmas Tree he said. It sounds like no production related issues...thus far. Stoked to get mine!!
Quoted from Bublehead:But it is easy to sell crack to a crackhead...
Love that quote. But I agree, CGC has a good thing going. They are making money and pinheads are very happy with the product. I hope they can ride this wave for awhile.

This is the information I was waiting for, right here. Thank you.
Wow! If all that is true, then I should have my matching serial number LE by the end of the month (I would think).
He was nice and walked out to production floor to measure height of LE with topper. I'll be putting mine in a tight spot...so inches count.
He said, depending on what height you set your legs to, 83" - 84" tall with Topper.

Well at least it doesn't jump up and down.
I probably won't get my LE before Christmas since I am not a matching serial number person. Hopefully all you guys that are will get your before Christmas.
email received today from PPS stated "it looks like all number match games will start to ship the week after Thanksgiving" and asked for final payment

Me too. Very exciting.

why would u make the final payment so far in advance from the game actually shipping? 2 days yes....2 weeks no way....2 weeks can easily turn into 4

That's just how it is man. I had a deposit on Alien for 2 years, now that sucks.
Quoted from bigdaddy07:That's just how it is man. I had a deposit on Alien for 2 years, now that sucks.
I hear ya, but I wouldn't pay until the game is about to ship....
Listen, when someone contacts me with the pay now email, they are getting paid. Period. I have not lived all this time and waited all these years to get a really gorgeous, amazing, New in the F’in Box Monster Bash that is way better (brand new) than a 20 year old original and cheaper than whats been circulating in the collectors market. 2 weeks?!? I’ve waited 20 years! Sheesh. They can have my money for two months as long as an MBr LE shows up on my doorstep.
These guys have a good history thus far. If this was the first ever game in a small company I wouldn't be sending anything yet but my check is in the mail for the morning pickup.

Received my pay in full request...payment being sent today.

I was paid in full for my MMr for almost 2 years before I received my machine. A few weeks is nothing compared to that.

I totally understand that all distributors/manufacturers want your money ASAP (of course they do). I just can't get my head around paying for a game months, or multiple weeks before its actually being shipped. In the case of CGC they are clearly legit so you'll eventually get your product so theres very little risk. Out of curiosity when are distributors required to pay for games?

I believe all deposits to CGC from Distributors were due on Nov 9th

I understand deposits....what about final payment for the game? My guess is distributors are required to pay upon shipping?
I’m so on the fence with this game. I have space for 3 pins and a arcade game. I’ve not owned MB in the past, but played the VIrtual Pinball version on a cab I owned quite a bit, so I get that it’s not very deep. Getting MBr nib would be a wonderful experience, with hours of fun and awe - I’m just concerned the hype will fade quickly and my wife will be pissed if I want to sell it after a few months at a 500-1k loss. I had MMr for 2 years - loved it but it too got old and got rotated out. I think the wife would enjoy MBr because it’s shiny and pretty and she’s pretty bad at pinball, and my daughter would beat it in no time..... I’m getting something - this or pirates..... convince me either way!

I think you and your family should decide, not a bunch of pinsiders

This is the best advice I've read on Pinside in awhile. Bring family to a dealer that has both and go from there.

Easy. Get them both and rotate something else out.
Quoted from Higloss67:Has anyone actually received their SE yet?
Nope. Not even so much as an email notification yet.
How long has it been since the SE people were asked to pay in full?
I was told that the LEs will begin shipping the week after Thanksgiving.

Our form in Australia states full payment due 2 weeks before shipping. Then we wait 2 or more months. This is what you have to do if you want one. First lot are built to order.

there is a local operator that already has one at a bar down the road.
I called CGC a week ago in regards to a question I had. He advised a large load of SE's left the dock on previous day. He felt positive non-matching LE's would make it under Christmas Tree.
Quoted from indypinhead:Received my pay in full request...payment being sent today.
I just did the same

So funny & true!

two weeks isn't entirely unreasonable....waiting an additional 2 months is painful....In the states I suspect many ship directly from the factory to customers? my real question is when do the distributors have to pay the manufacturers?
